The pitches have definitely changed in Australia. I've been keeping an eye on the Sheffield shield games and ball has been dominating bat.The Aussies will produce wickets to suit them ? So if you put your back into bowling the bouncer, you will always be in the game, Hard and Flat with something on the first morning for the bowlers with a fresh wicket and a hard new ball.
Nothing ever changes down under in the Ashes and the first 30 overs are key to the game,
If you lose early wickets you're bang in trouble and will be chasing the game, England will need a fully fit Archer and Wood for at least 3 test, then Stokes needs to back them up both in batting and bowling.
My pick for England's key player will be Joe Root and if he scores big runs, england will win the Ashes
The pitches were too good for batting and the shield was becoming very predictable, so changes were made. Also drop in pitches are used in many venues, and 3 of the 5 ashes tests will be played on drop in pitches.
Everything I've read suggests the Aussies want to play us on bowler friendly pitches because of England's attacking style with the bat. That might work in our favour because I like the look of our seam attack.
