Love cricket, especially test cricket and love Jimmy but this ‘retirement test’ thing is an absolute joke, especially as he doesn’t want to finish yet.

If they don’t want to pick him anymore, think he should retire from test cricket and want to go in a different direction, especially with the Ashes in mind, that’s entirely their prerogative and fair play to them, but this is professional sport not some Sunday afternoon benevolent society.

Not only that, what happens if he takes 5-50 and 4-25, does he suddenly get picked for the second test or does he stay retired?
He’ll be staying retired but agree with you it’s daft.

Got the womens' ODI on at the moment (no football, see?). Don't usually watch the womens' game, to be honest. I have to say, it's pretty pedestrian in comparison to the mens' game. And some of the fielding is, let's be kind, average. Also, the atmosphere seems nearly non existent.
It's a lot better than it used to be.

The idiots tried to change his action but a bowler must be left to adjust and refine it himself, which Jimmy did successfully.
The coach's in the infinite wisdom thought that they could improve his action, it happens all the time. They watched him and couldn't understand that when he delivered the ball his head would turn to the side and not look straight down the wicket and in trying to change him they totally fucked up his natural action. Jimmy finally went back to how he'd always bowled and the rest is history.

Not all International sides bat as poorly as this West Indian side.
I wasn’t being entirely serious, but it’s something he could have said as a bit of banter.

Still, if he takes all 20 wickets in each test he plays, he’ll only need about 37 tests to get there.
