Teams have been putting up massive 4th innings scores all season at Headingley. The consensus is that it’s a pitch that gets easier to bat on, and the outfield is so fast that as soon as someone is in they can score at will.
I've just taken a glance at Yorkshires fixtures and to me it seems that the vast majority of the larger score have been first innings, didnt spend very long looking tho

On second glance I see a couple but not enough to suggest 2nd innings would definitely be easier than first

This has been a terrific series — painful for an England supporter, but always gripping. It would be a crying shame if this match, which is still right in the balance, were rained off, and the series decided that way. Even if there's no play today, Australia will surely play it as safe as houses if they get any play tomorrow. If they can't win, a draw is enough.
I have always loved cricket, but this is an aspect of it that's always really pissed me off. The Great Unreliable British Summer.

What makes you 350/ 400 should be achievable when the highest score so far is 263 ?
You really do know sod all about cricket don’t you.

How many wickets in this match have been from unplayable jaffas? Two or three and all bowled by Wood (who it’s unlikely we’re going to face)

How you seen the history of 4th innings run chases at Headingley over the last decade?

Are you aware the pitch should be easier to bat on as it slows? We’ll be batting on a day 3 pitch, it should be the easiest it’s going to be over the three days.

Most batsmen have played themselves in and then gotten themselves out. Marsh and Stokes are the only ones that have played at anything like their level.

You also didn’t read my post. I said we should be to do it but I’m not confident that we will.

Lmao I know fuck all about Cricket I've been addicted to it since my dad took me to a one day international in 1984 when Viv Richards scored 189 , for many seasons after that I was a Lancashire member and played for Rochdale 2nds , just because we have differing opinions there is no need to be insulting , its not the first time .
My question was inquisitive , as personally i wouldn't want to be chasing much over 300 , so to suggest 350/400, although possible, would be a wonderful performance where as it seemed that you were suggesting it would be a failure if there were not too . However the wickets have fallen in this match be them jaffas or not they have for both teams and little to suggest that will not continue. Get a grip of yourself people can have different opinions

I was unaware you were being inquisitive as the tone didn’t come across as that (to me at least).

As I’ve repeated, what we should be able to knock off and what I’m confident we will, are two totally different things.

We’re not going to be trying to bat on a day 5 pitch with hugely uneven bounce that’s also turning square for their spinner. We’ll be playing (if there’s any sodding play) on a day 3 pitch (even if it’s on actual day 4). That’s the point I was making.

Both Australia and England should have scored far more runs in their first innings although at least Australia can point to facing some top class fast bowling knocking them over.
