Cricket Thread

Don’t know if it’s because we’re 3 years in now, or because the ashes has made me really want cricket to grow and be back on free to air tv, but I’m starting to get behind the hundred a bit now.
The best thing the ECB did was insist that terrestrial TV get access to live games for it.

Lancs are going to need to bat well to win this game at (the real) Old Trafford, just the 412 required from 50 overs.

I watched some of it earlier, but the bowling and fielding was pretty rank, so I fully expect the batting to follow suit, gave up and went to sit in the sun.

Have you seen the Trent Rockets wicketkeeper?

I asked someone the other day what nationality they thought this player was referring to the Trent Rockets wicket keeper.

He replied to my amusement "that guy looks South African to me".

He got one bit right I guess.

Just been to the Oval , Surrey well beaten by Kent. Matt Parkinson took 4 wickets for Kent.
He was omitted at Blackpool on Wednesday, just one spinner the Quadri. Got 1, 2 and 4 for Kent so far, and hasn't been expensive bar the first game when he bowled 2 overs in a 17 over chase. Most teams seem to have 5 or so 2nd XI players in this comp, bit still it is positive for Parky.

When did Parkinson move to Kent ? More importantly why ?
He has been at Durham this season and after that spell went to Kent about 2 weeks ago.

His form dipped after England called him up for a Test Match and then dropped him from all 3 formats. I think he was due to go to Kent next season when his contract expired at the end of October but they brought it forward.

He wasn't featuring in the CC or T20 and lost his 100 pick. It was moving or 2nd XI cricket. He needed a fresh start and has only really shown any form this season in the last week.
