To be fair to Aggers it didn't look like he going to play test cricket again.

Maybe so but it doesn’t look good mocking one of our test cricketers. In fairness to Aggers, he knows he’s made a **** of himself and the world moves on.

I doubt he would have done likewise against an Indian Test bowler

He had a system that suited with his umpteen singles on the fourth ball of each over. He may have got closer or the unprotected tail might have subsided sooner. We’ll never know.

Just seen the last wicket (was working at the time). Bizarre. How did a bog standard forward defensive block put enough back spin on the ball to force it back with enough pace to dislodge the bail (I don't think there's that much of a slope at Lord's). And why didn't he kick it away?

I didn't watch today due to work, however what a fantastic end to a fantastic test match.

What a fantastic advert for Test Cricket this series has been, and I'm glad all the 4 day nonce's in the ICC have been treated three proper 5 day classics.

You can't beat a close run 5 day test match. The T20 stuff is okay-ish; I can see the appeal among young cricket fans*. A complete game in 4 hrs, fireworks, music over the PA, those fancy flame launchers etc. Definitely a family friendly format. But test cricket is the ultimate, in my opinion.


*The Hundred can fuck right off, though. And when it's finished, it can come back and fuck off again.

I enjoy all formats of cricket* for very different reasons, the worst thing to do is try and compare them because they all give something completely different. But I agree, there's no beating a close test match.

Guess it’s the same principle as when the ball is swept and it always spins on the first bounce.

It just shows how many revs they out on the ball. May we’ll have hit a footmark too though!
