Why wouldn't I be.You sure?
Why wouldn't I be.You sure?
I do... We should be almost out of it considering our prior results. But with the way results have fallen, the whole bottom half of the table has condensed so every team including England still had a chance.
The match against Australia is key imo. If we lose that then our chances are probably very slim. Until then I'll be hoping they can still do it in a realistic way. If we lost that game I think we'd need a miracle as I think the India game is a guaranteed loss.
But this World Cup is starting to throw up some big surprises so it's really quite difficult to pick who will get the final semi final place.
The damage is already done. We are not getting into the top 4 even if we beat the Aussies
The Squad is in pieces and looks so old, We are miles away from 4 years ago and the Squad needed refreshing 2 years ago with youth and hungry players for this World Cup,
Has Stokes including himself in the squad changed the mentality?
If we assume India, NZ and SA qualify there's one spot left. You would assume it's between England, Pakistan and Australia despite there being some upsets and England sitting bottom.
Australia (4pts) play Netherlands, NZ, England, Afghanistan and Bangladesh. Maximum 12pts if we beat them.
Pakistan (4pts) play SA, Bangladesh, NZ and England. Maximum 10pts if we beat them.
England (2pts) play Sri Lanka, India, Australia, Netherlands and Pakistan. Maximum 12pts.
There's a very slim chance we can still do it. Australia could lose a further game to bring them down to 10pts and that gives us the ability to lose one more game.
Our bowling attack has struggled like many predicted, and our batting hasn't exploded as we've expected. Hopefully we can nail some form, go back to basics and find a bit of form to take us through.
