300 or a lead of the same?

Good 50 for Williams and Salt ticking along nicely, but there is just so much time left in this game. Lancashire’s morning and Smith’s drop might be costly.
300+ on the board for a start, 200 lead, and hope the wicket dries out and cracks with the weather as it isn't doing much.

Double Bill getting his record score helps, but suggests we may have to bat all day.

That would be a difficult call, particularly as he’s likely to retire at the end of the series. Not saying you’re wrong, just not sure the selectors would be that brave.

So Anderson gets Lords, misses Headingley; then gets Old Trafford and probably misses the Oval?

I'm not suggesting he should be retained, and if he is as ineffective at Lord's and England are two down, then they may have to act. However, their culture is to remain loyal to the players that have done so well in the last 18 months, so I just cannot see them changing.

All Surrey’s wins this season have seen them chasing down teams in fourth innings, including last week’s big one in Canterbury. Good knock by Williams.

The pitch offered absolutely nothing for him. He’ll deliver like he always does during the series. Wouldn’t be surprised if he’s still playing for England next year either.

Surrey will chase 208.

Great knock for Bell-Drummond for Kent, 300 not out away to Northamptonshire. Kent's record score was 332 so Bell-Drummond just ran out of partners.

WW got his highest ever First Class score, now Blatherwick follows him and Morley just missed out on beating his.

A Diplodocoidean tail.
