I did fear for England going into the ashes with little test cricket and now it's showing, If we are not careful and make changes in the 3 other test matches the Aussies are going to whitewash us 5.0

This is exactly why I was so critical after Edgbaston. I really couldn’t give a toss about entertaining neutrals I want England to regain the ashes and wining that first test was going to be massive for whoever won it.

We gifted Australia that game and it will bug me for some time tbh

To be fair, we took 18 in the last test and looked to have done all the hard work in breaking the back of the Australian run chase, before failing to see it over the line. The early signs from this test, however, are that we're going to struggle to take wickets a lot more than we did at Edgbaston

Mainly because smith and labuschagne played poorly at Edgbaston. I very much doubt they will do that again this series.

To be fair we failed to take 20 wickets to win the test and lost the test as a result, it is not looking anywhere near likely we can do it in this 2nd test
