Aussies openers have played very well, England haven’t.
The simple reason is poor bowling even with it swinging around, You have to aim to hit the wickets and top off-stump is the golden rule at Lords, The better batsman will leave most that are going wide or on length, but at Lords with the slope you help and can fool any batsman into leaving,
It was a very big morning for England bowlers and we failed. so another session like that and its good to be hard to win this test and the ashes
Never heard the South Londoners called the 'Rey before ! What do they call their north London rivals ?Jacks shouldering arms to one that nipped back beautifully and clipped the top of off. Lovely ball by Williams. Looking bleak for the 'Rey.
Mine tooGreat win Lancs - my last post had the desired effect.
To be fair, we took 18 in the last test and looked to have done all the hard work in breaking the back of the Australian run chase, before failing to see it over the line. The early signs from this test, however, are that we're going to struggle to take wickets a lot more than we did at EdgbastonThe fear was always how are we going to take 20 wickets to win an Ashes test, it appears very unlikely from what we have seen in the series so far.
Mainly because smith and labuschagne played poorly at Edgbaston. I very much doubt they will do that again this series. To be fair, we took 18 in the last test and looked to have done all the hard work in breaking the back of the Australian run chase, before failing to see it over the line. To be fair we failed to take 20 wickets to win the test and lost the test as a result, it is not looking anywhere near likely we can do it in this 2nd testTo be fair, we took 18 in the last test and looked to have done all the hard work in breaking the back of the Australian run chase, before failing to see it over the line.
