I can’t understand professional sportsmen/women being overweight. There's no excuse for it, really. That Patel fella who's playing for Notts is a big old unit. Same for some of the umpires in the women's game. It doesn't reflect well on the individuals.
That Patel fellow is a stalwart in of T20 game and still in demand in leagues around the world. Overweight people have the right to love and play the game, if their fithess is the issue then it's upto the concerned management to take action.

On a sidenote, what frustrates me is how up and coming fast bowlers like Robinson (not picking on him, there is wider trend) who break into international cricket with good pace and in couple of years their pace drops considerably while senior citizens of the game like Broad and Anderson give their all despite their age and time spent in the game

Couldn’t agree more.

This morning session's the one, isn't it? If they settle in and knock up another hundred, they take the game away from us again. On the other hand, if we get another couple of wickets…
I think we'll know by lunchtime which way this game, and this series, is going.

Not much excuse for anyone overweight unless due to illness/hereditary.

Most people have become lazy fat bastards who eat rubbish and won't stop and exercise.

Yep.

Same as the last Test where England were 278-4 at stumps on day 2 chasing Australia's 416. They should've come close to par with the Aussies on day 3 but lost 6 wickets for less than 50 runs and that was just too much to turn around.

Yep, I’m shitting it.

I would feel a lot better if I had faith in our very talented batsmen were ready to show their talent.

We should be able to knock out 350-400 on this pitch on Day 3-4 but we’d need to respect the opposition and situation, of which I’m not confident.
