Just got the IPL on now. Not really taking an awful lot of notice of the game. Thought I'd try and find out which player has the biggest saksry/contract; apparently, Mitchell Starc is being paid nearly $3m. For two months' cricket, if his side go all the way. Fucking hell; that's crazy money.

To bowl 4 overs every 3-4 days and maybe swing the bat a dozen times a week.

I haven't been watching the IPL this year (saving myself for the World Cup, Blast and Hundred) but decided to check out the highlights of this one.

It was a remarkable chase but it wasn't really cricket more a 'home run derby' where pretty much every highlight was a six and how far the ball went.

I wanted to see how Narine managed to keep such good bowling figures in such a high scoring game but they never seem to show good bowling spells unless it's a wicket.

T20 is an unusual form of Cricket on its own but when you just watch the 'highlights' well it doesn't feel like Cricket at all.

At the rate they’re throwing wickets away, Lancashire appear determined to have a Roses meeting in the Championship (Division 2) next season…
