If they had the Windies 5 down at the scheduled close of play, would they claim the extra half hour? Maybe more pertinently, would the umpires agree (5 wickets in half an hour)?

It’s such a shame we have 2 sub standard test sides touring over here this year. I absolutely love test cricket and the summer tests are pretty much the highlight of my summer. Sadly can’t see any of the series being competitive

Not a very original conclusion (although pundits get paid on television for saying this kind of thing) but I don't think England will bat again, somehow.

How would that make any difference if they’re only lasting 2.5?

All 5 days does is allow for some bad weather, I guess.

Well I guess most are surviving into a 4th day and I was thinking it would bring the draw back as something to play for. As it stands it just ain't worth buying tickets in advance for day 4 and even 3 for test matches in this country !
