I wonder how the T20 Blast groups will be split?

Maybe...

Northern:

Lancashire
Yorkshire
Durham
Derbyshire
Nottinghamshire
Leicestershire

Central:

Northamptonshire
Warwickshire
Gloucestershire
Worcestershire
Glamorgan
Somerset (I really hope it's them and not Essex)

The posh boys:

Surrey
Middlesex
Hampshire
Sussex
Essex
Kent

As primarily a Northants fan I'm not exactly thrilled with the prospect of that group. It seems a bit lacking compared to the other groups and I'll miss the fixtures against the likes of Lancashire, Yorkshire, Notts (Trent Bridge what a ground) etc.

Never liked Warwickshire for some reason and the rest of the teams don't really have that star power imo. Even Northants seems the bigger team against most of those teams when it comes to T20. And if it's Essex instead of Somerset then it'll be even worse.

To be honest I'd prefer it if it was just totally random each year. 6 teams together regardless of geography. That way you might get a better balance.
They have always been split that was since 2003. It was used in 2020 and about 10 times in between when we had 3 x 6 groups.

I not sure why the "maybe" when it it has been consistently done one way.

They won't do a random draw as they like the derby games which pull in the crowds and money, and reduce travel and hotel costs.

Yeah and it's been better in the last few years with a better mix of teams to play. Going back to just playing the Midlands teams isn't a good move in my eyes.

The northern group is fine with Lancs, Durham, Yorkshire etc and I'll miss seeing those games against Northants.

Going Friday in that Sports Breaks bit, 11% chance of rain according to Accuweather hopefully that stays the same. Looks like rain Wednesday so hopefully will get to see a bit of batting and bowling.

Taken 11/2 for the first wicket this morning to be LBW, should hoop around before the ball goes soft.

Good to see that Lancs are as well organised off the pitch as they currently are on it. People queueing for well over an hour to get into ground. Someone has said there are literally just 2 lanes of stewards checking every bag. Shambles.

I'm there at the weekend, might give myself a bit more time than I first planned

Probably not a bad idea. Was even mentioned a few times on the live thread on the BBC website that it was chaos getting in. No idea why, not like it's the first time they've hosted a Test. There was even nearly a full house in for the Lancs v Yorks T20 last week and nothing like the difficulties getting in then.
