If any one wants a real good laugh - watch the Stick to Cricket episode from this week Gladstone Small and Allan Lamb. Absolutely hilarious. For those old enough to remember, it was a dressing room with some characters - Botham, Gower, Lamb

I can recommend two great books about some Ashes classics

Victory in Australia - Richard Whitehead

Richie Benaud's Blue Suede Shoes - David Kynaston & Harry Ricketts

This one focuses on the pivotal Old Trafford Test Match of 1961.

Do you mean Group Captain Gower DFC?

Australia look scary good!

Not only did they chase India's 330 down.. they dispatched Bangladesh without breaking a sweat

Won by 10 wickets.. 202 in 24.5 overs.. they could have hit 450 at that rate.

BTW I was reading some online comments from the Indian fans.. they were hillarious like can Mitchell Starc and his wife go play some Ashes instead of beating up on India all the time??? LOL

This Indian team has managed to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory in 3 straight games.

I still can't make sense of it..

I thought they were legit 2nd favorites at this world cup at one point.

…..And look at.

The IPL coverage on ITV used to be superb much better than it is now. A proper build-up show, analysis from Simon thingy, pundits including Isa and the other lady in the picture was the presenter.

South Africa are real contenders here this tournament.

They scored 309.. in 40 OVERS in a rain interupted match. Needless to say they won easily.

The groundsmen were the stars getting that pitch playable just before cut-off ! One of the most irritatingly rain-interrupted matches ever.

Really enjoying BBC Test Match Special radio coverage of these matches. Steven Finn is class.

Englands women, so like the men particularly pre Stokes/McCallum era, great start, Aussie bowling gets tighter do 5 top order batters give their wickets away, a couple of lower order batters show what an easy wicket it is to bat on snd add runs, then they give their wickets away. The giggling middle class jolly hockey sticks school girls. Hard as nails Aussies stay cool, keep cool and will knock the runs off with ease well, Sophie Ecclestone not withstanding)

They're hardly as shite as you're making them out to be. As of now they're undefeated. They've beaten arguably the second best team in India and they've thrashed the next best team in South Africa.

Australia are a level above for everyone but I still think we can beat them on our day. Bit like the ashes a few years back.

Well at 24 for 3 Aussies im wishing you’d not responded and then I could have quietly deleted my post and moved on. As you know my most was actually designed to motivate the girls, which it clearly has. And just a side note we would have been smashed by Sri Lanka last time we batter, but for the Manchester type rain

Their current pair and the next batswoman coming (McGrath) are some of the best players in the women's Hundred so there's still time for England to bottle it.

;)
