England presently have one player averaging over 30 with the bat…. Says it all. Australia have 7 averaging over 30. All their major players are averaging over 40.

This is ridiculous. As I said before the series there's some ridiculous overhyping of this England team.our bowlers are inexperienced, our batting is average and we are poor in the field.

This Australian side is poor but it's still a lot better than England.
I think both sides are better than poor to be fair. It’s just going south like it usually does in Australia. They just have a knack of turning up in a home Ashes series even if their form isn’t great. We won the home series 3-0 in 2013 and it would’ve been 4-0 if it wasn’t for the rain in the last test (although 4-1 would’ve been a fair result if it wasn’t for the rain in the OT test), yet less than 6 months later we got walloped 5-0 in the return series.

Starc, an Australian tail ender, demonstrating to the English how to bat.

I wonder if the lesson will be learnt?

There’s every chance we will lose a wicket in the first 5 overs when we do bat. Personally I think England should be chatting to Matt Prior and Alistair Cook in the commentary box to see if they fancy a return.

After the start we had in the first innings when we were 10/2 we did well to get upto 330 all out, don’t think bazball had anything to do with it.
Tell Harry brook that. If you’re gonna play with such disregard for your wicket and the match you better bloody perform well. Sadly England haven’t and that sits very squarely with bazball.

How many of this England team would get in a combined Ashes team? Sadly I think it would probaly largely mirror the Australian team. Maybe Root, and Brook when on form. Stokes as an all rounder, but too unpredictable. Who do you think?
