It is a succesful negotiating tactic only if it works, which it repeatedly didn't. Sometimes you have to pay extra money or you lose your targets and if you keep losing targets, results on the pitch will be affected sooner or later. The board has to be realistic, we are not Real Madrid, players look to us as an atrractive option but no more than that. We keep behaving like that in the transfer market and no player or club will take us seriously.

I swear to god some people on here want the buzz of signing galacticos over the buzz of having a team and squad who actually win trophies.
