Not really any previous behaviour really just that he isn't any of The things the club go for like humble, hard working, plays for the team rather than himself etc.

Ronaldo is all about himself, he's cocky (not necessarily bad), likes to be in charge, likes to give the orders.... Team Pep don't go for that imo.
There is no ‘I’ in Team.
But there is a ‘U’ in ****…

Ronaldo isn't hard working & doesn't play for his teams?

True leaders are born, not made. I'd imagine Ronaldo was made Captain of Portugal because he was their best, most inspirational player. If memory serves me right isn't that his only captaincy?

With all due respect mate, what you've pointed out doesn't much sound like reasons not to have him at the Etihad, they sound more like more reasons to have him. I mean, City have a leadership team. Isn't that the point of having strong driven characters at a club? Having captains all over the pitch?

Also remember, he can score penalties too! :-)

He is hard working obviously, all his hard work is solely for his own benefit though, it benefits his teammates still but he’s doing it for one man only. What’s being missed here is the first post was right, can you imagine him pressing in a pep way? I don’t, the same way a Bernardo sacrifices some of his own game etc.

The state of him in the euros final when he went off injured, completely undermined the manager, all because he had to be centre of attention and couldn’t be on the pitch. I remember when United beat chelsea in the CL final. Van der Saar saved the winning pen, all players run to the hero keeper naturally, guess who fell to his knees on the halfway line so the camera can be just on himself.

Outrageously good footballer, self absorbed arrogant wanker, absolutely.

Sorry, I totally disagree. I assume just like me you've never met the fella in real life to draw any personal conclusions?

Until 3 weeks ago, it was said the most powerful person at Barca was Messi. What I saw in the Euros was an injured Ronaldo trying to inspire his teammates from the sidelines. I don't recall the manager having an issue with it, & iirc Portugal went on to win the tournament.

You might not be able to see Ronaldo pressing from the front in a Guardiola system, but I recall him going crazy when surrounded by three Barcelona players who were stood in a triangle around him passing the ball with him chasing the ball down. He was going sick at his teammates, because they were stood in Real's half just watching him, instead of helping with the offensive press.

Finally, could you really see Ronaldo playing under Pep & telling him 'This is how I play, & I ain't running around, pressing the ball for no one.'? Me neither. If he came to City, I think he'd have a fair idea of how we play, & what was expected of him...
