Criticism of Pep

Posters like you are the reason for much of the "anti" reaction on here.

Most of the so-called anti-Pep stuff is actually or subliminally anti-fanboy.
Yeah I’m a fan of the most progressive, successful manager we’ve had. So what?
Posters like you who are the epitome of ‘Ickle City’ are the problem.
You’d be happy to beat utd twice a season and have a manager who ‘gets’ us.
In short, I couldn’t give a fuck about you or your short sighted opinion.

Peps game plan fuck the defense.

Simply out score all the opposition.

Works 97% of the time.

Over the last 2 seasons we have achieved great success because we have had the best players in the Premier League at their peak.

Now those plays are getting old and moving on.

We should have planned much better if we wanted to stay playing the same way.

We have zero chance of getting past Madrid simply because we can not defend in any capacity.Even if we score 2 goals we are likely to conceded 3.

Hope i am wrong.

Peps refusal to compromise ,and occasionally be pragmatic will stop him from being recognized as a true great manager.

I dont see him ever winning the Champions League again.

Holy fuck, he is already a great manager and will go down as one of the best in history.

You’re late to the party sid. He’s already recognised as one of the greatest. By his peers and most footballers who play professionally no less.
Reckon he’ll survive a few members on bluemoon thinking otherwise.

Pep's game plan is to, not let the opposition have the ball, if they get it then press them to get it back
Of course its to out score the opposition its the only why to win the contest
If you are suggesting that he doesn't worry about the goals conceded then you couldn't be more wrong
Take the three games against the rags if 50% of the chances had been taken it would have been 3 victories not 1 they dint threat us and got the goal from a missed directed headed which fell nicely for Matich who struck it well It wasn't created

Moving to England winning loads of trophies and bringing the best football we have ever seen in the history of football hasn't been enough. He moved to City and since then the media have always found fault no matter how successful he has been, if he'd have stayed at Barca or Bayern he would still have been lauded as godlike by the British press.

OK he's said a few things that have stoked the fire but I forgive him for that.

In the eyes of us City fans he is a great manager.

He has delivered us domestic success beyond our wildest dreams. No one can argue with that.

Lets us not forget though he spent a shit load of money along the way.And has been fully dependent on signings that he didn't even make like Vinny,David Silva,Aguero.A bit like his time at Barcelona where he inherited some of the best young players in the World lin Messi etc.

Like i said in my post, his style is not Rocket science.Simply buy some of the best attacking players in the World and out score the opposition every game.It is entertaining to watch.

Works until you come up against near equals like the better teams in Europe. This is when it all unravels a bit.You can not win the Champions League by going to Liverpool/Madrid and trying to out score them on their own patch. You need a Plan B.Hence why in my opinion he will never win the Champions League and be recognized as a truly great manager.

Agree, but I think it is because of the number of clueless idiots on here criticising anything that moves that are driving many knowledgeable people away from this forum.
Unprecedented treble , record number of goals, attacking, free flowing football.

Most of the worst offenders never go near a football match, results are their only clue to what is happening on the pitch.

Shame bluemoon has ended up like this.

Pep, like all managers will be judged solely on his results.

We are no closer to winning the Champions League now than we were when he arrived.

I would honestly love to be wrong (because it would mean we are European Champions) but there is a mounting body of evidence (3 years at Bayern and 3 years here) that his emphasis on the process of playing football rather than ruthless efficiency is not effective at the highest level.

If he delivers great, if he doesn't, he goes. Our owners want the Champions League and so do many of our fans.

Too many sentimental people on here defending him. City first, Pep a distant second.

Too many people living in the recent past. Thanks for the last 2 years Pep, now deliver.

He could lose in Europe every year as long as he wins domestic trophies, that's just my opinion of course but I am very much anti UEFA and CL, measuring his success against that cup is a mistake.
