Criticism of Pep

When he puts players out of position and changes the formation for one game are you surprised the team is disjointed and not knowing where to be? last night case in point

They did know where to be though. That’s why we restricted United to very few chances and we created ones that individuals really should have scored.

i don’t fully agree but do respect your view.

I happen to believe Klopper’s achievements in England will have surpassed Pep’s at the end of the season...unless we win the CL.

Just hope I”m wrong.

Has Klopp every done the English domestic double, treble and quadruple in one season?

Until Klopp has, winning the CL doesn't compare to that Pep achievement, and it never will.

I don’t think the changes in formation are major anyway. If we play 4 at the back the sitting midfielder often drops into a three with the fullbacks forward on in midfield. Three at the back just means Rodri starts at the back and steps up with the ball. It isn't a huge shape change.

Just read an article by a French magazine on the top 20 managers of all time.

Pep comes in at number 5. Those above him?
Cruyff, Sacchi, Ferguson and Michels.

Those well below him. Shankly and Busby.
Not listed Klopp.

Going to be mighty difficult to replace.

They cant, Pep has 2 league wins, Klopp will have one. Don’t know yet how many cup wins Pep will have but will be more than Klopp.

Of course they can. It all depends on the weight you attach to the various comps.

FA and League Cups are great to win but both competitions have been degraded. They are where everyone plays their reserves.

PL and League titles are the biggies. And PL trumps the League in the outside world. We have barely registered in Europe. As for the League itself, Klopper will probably set a new all-time points record. Hell, they might even have an invincible season, although I doubt it.

Then you also need to take into account relative spends. Not a popular view on here but it’s a factor.

So yes, it is possible.

like playing midfielder Zinchenko at leftback during a record breaking season?
Zinchy played there every week with delph as well, they were quick learners but they had game after game to learn the position, last night we had zinchy and angel fit but he puts a rb in there,we had eric jnr and john on the bench but he puts rodders in,as a one off are they supposed to do a good job? it throws the rest out surely?

Almost impossible. The most important thing to look for though in somebody that. carries on in the same way. Bringing in a manager that doesn’t and tries ripping up the blueprint in place will see us drifting. Despite still winning their leagues Bayern and Barcelona have struggled to replace him and lost momentum by moving away from managers that follow the Cruyff, Michels philosophy.

Are you insane?
Klopp has been at Liverpool 4 and a half years. He has yet to win a trophy here.
That is about to end granted. But before he does it's quite likely we will have won 6 of the last 7 major domestic trophies. And if you want to throw in the Charity shield make that 8 from 9.

No, 2 titles beat 1 . One champions league doesn’t compare to what we did with all domestic titles last season. Spends not interested.
