Criticism of Pep

My only frustration with the tactics in the Anfield game is meant our only attacking threat came through Leroy. He was our only attacker and everything came down his side.

Him and Jesus. Only for the first 50 minutes though, after that Sterling came on and we failed to break them down.

Yeah of course. To be fair though we should have had a penalty and a goal wrongly ruled out.

But I do think that the tactics in that game, whilst clearly Pep wanted control completely blunted us, and by the time we recovered Liverpool had shut the game down.

When he puts players out of position and changes the formation for one game are you surprised the team is disjointed and not knowing where to be? last night case in point

Im not sure he had much option last night however -ferna injured and laporte unable to play as well along with mendy -

He clearly has lost faith in stones (and from the little Ive seen i dont blame him) so he had very little other option - but there were players out there playing in positions normal to them who just didnt perform....KDB in and out of the game, Silva having a brain fart, Sterling being well below par for quite a while, Mahrez doing a Mahrez again - none of those players played well last night and have at other times let their levels drpo as well.

Pep demands players who are intelligent and skillful enough to play various positions - hence his love of Jesus and Ferna - h wants players who can adapt (Kun has done this magnificently -if he hadnt he would have been gone)

It wasn't the tactics that blunted us though, we started really well and dominating midfield through having an extra man.

Then, Walker knocked the ball to Salah for an open goal on their first attack, and then Ox put one in from 30 yards and everything done pre-game became irrelevant.

Eric jnr would have been fine,he is very calm and we had 2 fit lb's
Tis gone now,i hate derbies but we really should not keep getting beaten at home

This is my first post. Disclaimer: I’m not a Manchester City fan, but I am a fan of the football you’ve played over the last three years.

If you want an outsider's perspective, I think elements of your fanbase are completely out to lunch. It’s a strange alchemy of cynicism, rage and ignorance combined with a victimization complex.

You’ve just witnessed the two highest-scoring seasons in premier league history, and yet you show your coach and players so little respect it beggars belief.

I remember when Barcelona were knocked out of the Champions League by Chelsea in 2012. I’m sure their fans were disappointed, but at the end of ninety minutes, they stood and applauded in unison in recognition of their team's achievements over the prior four years.

Yes, that Barcelona team won more, but they also had a much stronger first eleven than this City team. Given the individual quality of your players—which is very high, but not significantly better than your current rivals—this team has performed tremendously.

I hope you guys win the Champions League this year, your team deserves it. I also hope the more ignorant elements of your fanbase learn to appreciate what they’ve got before it’s too late.

For the record, there are definitely areas where you could improve the individual quality of your team, but all of your players deserve the utmost respect for what they’ve accomplished over the last two seasons.

We shouldn't get beaten at home, but the donut thief pulled off 5 really crucial saves that most other keepers would have conceded at least 2. He's the best reaction shot stopper in the league IMO. Pity he wasn't as good at hiding donuts!

So you think he does everything right, no manager in the history of the game has done everything right. My questions about some of his decisions is not a slight on Pep, he has been fantastic for us but for me every now and then he gets it wrong, every manger does.

Careful mate. I got called ‘pathetic’ for suggesting that just sometimes Pep might be a ‘very naughty boy’ rather than the ‘messiah’.
