Crvena Zvezda (H) | CL | Post Match Thread

Brilliant performance. Some sort of shot record, surely?

A lot of positives too. Alvarez continues to grow, Nunes and Doku refreshing.

The Boys in Blue didn’t give in. They fought to the end. Thank you City, thank you lads, thank you fans. You showed ‘em, you showed ‘em all.
Especially that team who had red in their name. Especially the Specsavers needing media. Especially that UEFA crowd who disrespected our fans. Never underestimate our team. THE BEST TEAM IN THE LAND AND ALL THE WORLD.

Played well. Should have been a cricket score.

Gomez unlucky to come off but understand he had to so doku could come on.
I was very critical of Gomez last season but he has proven me wrong when he has played this season.

Hopefully Bernardo isn't injured and he was taken off as a precaution.

Alvarez gives me Messi type vibes you might think that’s a stupid comparison but he is that good, whenever he gets the ball it feels like somethings going to happen, he can change a game by himself and is only going to get better, you can see the confidence in his play and ability now. We must definitely hold onto this lad for sure.

What did Bernie go off with? Didn’t look like a muscle pull based on how long he played on for.

Considering the ref gave us absolutely f*ck all a decent result were do they get these officials from ? Its like they are obeying an instruction to try and even a game up , he virtually booked every player who committed foul , he was a f8cking clown.
Very impressed with the new signings they just slot in like they have played here for years a testament to a brilliant coach at his peak , its a real pleasure to watch this team , even on an off night they put teams to the sword with disdain.

Never worried that we would not win but a strange game. Alvarez is rapidly becoming a key player. Feel a bit sorry for Gomes that nobody managed to convert the chances he created.
Job done and playing time given to some fringe players.

He put the ball past a guy inside our own half at the end and had whole pitch to run in to and I was like go on lad and he just couldn't do it, maybe playing safe on that occasion but it's very noticeable off the ball too
He did track back a few times but it’s fair to say he runs out of steam a bit.

His fitness levels will come on leaps and bounds over the next few months. It’s an under appreciated part of our success, but the difference our fitness and conditioning staff have made with players like Akanji, Ake and Rodri is incredible.

Got there one way or another, and on another day we win that by 6 or 7

Anyway, Haaland, Alvarez, Foden, Doku, Rodri, Nunes, Grealish, De Bruyne, Bernardo and Kovacic is an incredible front 6, and that's before you even touch our back 5

We've got an unreal squad at an age which has still got so much room for growth and improvement over the next 3 or 4 years

There's no squad in Europe that's got a squad like that in place to dominate the next few years

What a time to be a blue!

Plenty of times he didn't as well.
I mean that could be said of any player surely- phil had a few occasions where he didn’t track runners or he stopped running back to help. They are attacking players ultimately, but feel he does more than enough defensively.

Can the coaching staff teach Haaland to head the ball another three reasonable chances wasted tonight.
