crypto interest

Bitcoin seems to be back up and running after the 'crash'. Being predicted it'll reach an ATH or even $100k later this year.

Any projects worth looking at?
Terra Luna. The best performing coin out of the big ones last year and it will comfortably be the best again this year. Conservatively speaking I’d expect it to triple in price this year.

The founder of Terra currently spending $125m a day on Bitcoin has certainly helped Bitcoin to recover in the last couple of weeks!

It’s a bit early in the price action to be getting bullish!! And for completeness some have predicted $100k others $10k. It’s hard to really get a bearing on why they predict what they predict.

For me headwinds include inflation and increased regulatory oversight. Energy costs are probably seen as friendly by the coin community (assuming they understand the correlation between gate price and value) - my best guess is $31.750 to mine a coin currently - no one with a brain will “mine” beneath that average - so, in theory, might act as a floor price - however supply demand dynamics are complicated when there is no tangible product but rather a value store. And, of course, energy cost increases are naturally inflationary and that acts as a continuing headwind to prices.

Hmmmmm, tricky. If I had to back a dog in this fight I’d say it’ll likely be a bit range bound and just get long volatility - but if you can play the noise there is cash to be made even in range bound markets. But I don’t need to back a dog here, so for my risk/reward comfort zone there are better investments out there.

Good luck to all that invest, no matter what your poison.
To be honest I'm just hoping the prices get back to the position they were in last year. Then I'll cash out.

If it pumps then great. If it dumps I'll probably sit and wait for the next bull run to withdraw my funds.

I've had a bit of fun with it but I can't see myself being a long term holder.

Tripling in price would be big. Looks like it's up 8% in just the past 24 hours.

Yeah, the potential of it is still absolutely ridiculous. I was on about it on here last year when it was under $10. I bought early last February at around $6.

My take on this crypto lark…..I’m in my 50’s and up until 12 months ago was as sceptical as some on here about the cryptocurrency world. I just thought it was a scam.
My two 30 year old kids were just getting into it, and doing ok, and because we had a bit of spare cash doing nothing decided to take the plunge and buy into Bitcoin.
We did loads of research, found platforms launching new coins (legitimate projects with utility) to buy into at the bottom (IDO’s) and have recently started playing about with NFT’s.
They are more aggressive and take more risks than me, and in 12 months one has $250,000 staked in Yield which pays 10% APY and the other has different goals but has $175,000 which she converted to stablecoin (USD) to use as a deposit for a house. She recently bough an NFT of a penguin for $300 and two months later sold it for $10k, madness.
They have appointed a specialist crypto tax expert, and the staked currency is insured through specialist crypto insurers.
We are currently hoping to enter a bull run anticipated to last until the end of the year, where we plan to sell it all into stablecoin before the inevitable bear market returns.
You can be as sceptical as you like, just as I was, but it’s real, and it’s here to stay.
I still pinch myself every day.
Congratulations to you and your family mate.

It will be interesting to see how the dominant stable coin is pegged - if the underlying is crypto coin it will be bullish for Bitcoin and the such especially if vol remains high. Bearish if pegged to something like the USD.
Yeah, anything our government sets up is off little interest to me from an investment point of view. Should help to bring more people into crypto overall though. I’ll stick with Terra’s UST stablecoin as it continues to grow at a great pace over the next couple of years.

The UK is a financial power house, where we go others will follow so don’t be too quick to dismiss it. It really depends on you seeing it as bullish or bearish - both sides will have compelling arguments. If you’re in the trade, and would still buy it here. Stay long and may the trading gods shine on you.

Good luck with it all mate.

A fascinating watch.
Makes you wonder which other exchanges could be Ponzis.

The guy who lost $100k trading and then sold his house and used the exchange to transfer his left over $400k from USD to Canadian commission free didn't seem upset enough to me. The doc must have been cathartic from him in some way.

Crypto seemed a no brainer as a City fan of a certain vintage so I invested a while back. ‘We’re going up, we’re going down, we’re going up, we’re going down…..’
Haha, yeap, it’s a proper rollercoaster but in the long run you can make big money. Good time to buy again but loads will wait for things to start flying again before fomo kicks in again

Big Crypto crash today - will it recover?

It has done in the past but how does crypto compete in a higher interest rate environment?
