I thought that Mendy was decent today.

That's why I posted what I did.
His injuries have affected him not just physically but also mentally. It's a tough road back from the run of injuries that he's had. When he first arrived, he showed why we had bought him and then he started getting recurring injuries which affected his game and knocked his confidence. He's showing signs of improvement and if we keep the faith with him I think he'll get back to the player originally was.
He's only 26, he's got a good 5 years in him yet.
He'll be like a new signing.

Spot on. West Germany did this against Hungary in the 1954 World Cup and it worked a treat. Times are different I know but let's not allow them to become familiar with our first team if it works out this way.

Job done. Coasted really. Torres much better. Mendy sadly much the same as previous outings. Sterling worked really hard. Maybe trying too hard. What a strike from Sergio I am going to so miss that guy. Cancelo played better as well, that guy is an utter magician with a football. I just wish he didn’t give the ball away quite as much as he does. Ake solid. The last comment, Fernandinho a couple of days away from being 36 he is a masterful footballer.

Mendy set the first goal up. Whatever his shortcomings defensively he was effective going forward. I thought he was close to MOTM.

He needs to remain injury free and get a run of games.
