Crystal Palace (H) Post Match Thread

Problem is fella I’m watching our recent performances. I don’t read into the hype and I don’t think they are invincible but I do believe to win the league you need luck and they have that you n abundance. I have said all season and last season that we miss way to many chances and it is beginning to tell . A lot of people think Jesus is good for us but I think he is nowhere good enough to lead our line and considering we are the richest club in the world to only have one striker is piss poor . It’s ok pep saying no January signings but we need someone to bring the morale back in . Walker needs dropping ASAP. Ederson is not filling us with confidence at the moment but I believe he is a class keeper. As for ferdy why didn’t we get kovacic on loan like Chelsea did

dont share your pessimism fella ,in defence of Walker he has played non stop and needs a break , we paid £25m for Danilo as back-up and because he is never fit Walker plays virtually every game , Mendy is the same picking up injuries , overall we have had far more injuries than the scousers , and that is the main reason for our recent poor form , the injuries will eventually catch up with you ,and i actually think we have done well to keep pace. Being the richest club in the world is irrelevant when we are being scrutinised by UEFA for every transfer move our hierarchy will not risk blowing another £150-200m on reinforcements and suffer the subsequent punishment UEFA are very keen to implement , what is the point in having the most expensively assembled squad in europe if we get kicked out of the Champs league ?.Agree regarding the Dippers , they are enjoying a lot of good fortune and i think will come bite them in the arse , hopefully on January 3rd.

I know right? Sack pep. Get rosler in.

Ffs.
Our performance levels are well below what they need to be to win the league, that is fact. Nobody has said sack the manager. You don’t need to be sarky ****. It’s a valid point to say it’s not really an “off day” when it’s been 8 or 9 below par performances in a row. By very definition it’s not an off day. It’s a trend.

Just got back in ,not seen the rest of the comments.
Was talking to a guy in the concourse before the game and when we saw the team selection we were both puzzled as to why Walker was selected given his recent long run of games and lack of form and also hoping that Stones was not going to be played in midfield.
And so it came to pass.
Fcuks sake Pep , if it was so obvious to a couple of your average punters what on earth made you pick that side?
It wasn't Walker who cost us the game though was it. We took a gamble without KDB, Silva, Fernandinho and Aguero and thought we could win it with Gundog and Stones, but Palace hit a screamer and suddenly a routine game was turned on its head.

Mahrez is much more culpable than Walker. We took Sterling off who was really trying for us, and put on Mahrez who did literally nothing. He needs to start producing and stop coasting or he'll lose his place.

Absolutely dreadful result that was. A defence like a dogs back leg at times and a powder puff attack. We need to sharpen up all over the pitch because we've been suspect for a couple of weeks to be honest. More pissed off than concerned at the moment but we cannot have a repeat of this afternoon. Not good.

Agreed and Walkers role has been changed from last season. I would like answers as to why?

Agree with this. Stones did not look comfortable on Tues nor today. Midfield could easily have been Gundo, Bernardo and Foden. Sometimes it seems like Pep wants to overcomplicate whilst also not wanting to test Foden.
I think everyone was in shock with their first 2 goals coupled with the defence, especially Walker, playing poorly and why does virtually every cross hit the first defender?
This is now a big test for us and am looking forward to getting some players back!!

Thought Pep got the team selection all wrong today. No way is Stones a DM, nearly all of his passes were erring on the side of caution with mostly backwards and sideways passes.

I think I was most disappointed with Bernardo's performance to be honest, with David Silva being out, I was hoping Bernardo would try to provide the link up play that David usually plays, but we rarely saw Bernardo come into that space in between Palace's midfield and defence and try to build attacks from there.

There was simply no "chemistry" between our three midfielders, they played like a reserve midfield, because on this evidence, they were.
