Crystal Palace (N) | FA Cup Final | Post Match Thread

Some embarrassing takes on here, show some loyalty you bunch of cunts, the greatest manager of all time and he is ours,he's not playing it's the idiots who don't listen to him and the fact that the greatest player in the last few years is missing plus age related issues collectively that's the issue, what do you want fucking Alan pardew or some other bell end in charge, you will all be eating your words next season sound like fucking rag's, we've won everything ffs, entitled pricks,we can't possibly win everything every year.
Well said.

The hand of God?

Football was the loser today. The world saw how incompetent or corrupt the FA is. Not only the handball but the penalty. It's not VAR, it's the people behind the scenes. As City fans we know how they have tried to change the rules to stop us. Palace with two shots on goal offered nothing. We need to learn how to break down teams who park the bus. Not a great spectacle.

I'm in exactly the same traffic. Been here around 90mins already, no sign of what's happened or when we're likely to be moving again.

Just keep telling myself that no matter how bad my day has been, it's likely someone up ahead has had a worse day. Seen multiple police cars and ambulances go past us on the hard shoulder to whatever has happened up ahead.
Yes, I was thinking the same. Let’s hope whatever has happened everyone is OK.

Rodri, Marhaz, Walker, Stones, Sane, Cancello, Diaz. Shall I go on.
Stones who has played less than 50% of the games in ten years,171 competitive games is not value for money,Sane sulky and hit or miss and Cancelo wasn’t reliable and those are the good ones you mentioned

Maybe because the formula car as football squad analogy (despite your strong attempt) is a bit apples oranges.
The point is you shouldn't need an analogy to work it out, if you don't have all your best players for much of the season then you shouldn't be expecting to win very much. It's not rocket science. I'm trying to offer an analogy but I shouldn't have to.

I also think the fact that the players have given everything and virtually not stopped for the past few years had taken it's toll. I'd love to know how many matches most of our key players have played (including internationals) compared to other teams, because nobody else has got to the latter stages of the FAC and CL every season, as well as pushed hard for the title every year.

I'm not pointing the finger at you but there are to many on here that are expecting far to much. Frankly I'm amazed were even in with a chance of a CL place and in the cup final when you look at how many matches we've played over the past few seasons. Not many have ever managed it for more than a couple of seasons.

Who didn't see that coming? I felt like most of the players played fairly well in truth, poor performances weren't the problem or the reason we lost, the big problem was once again the gameplan.

Somebody tell me what the plan is when we control games like that? What's the route to goal because the players sure don't know. They all look for somebody else to do something and the only likely route through is an unlikely moment of individual brilliance, relying on that is never going to win you trophies.

You won't see a more stacked attacking lineup than the one that included doku, savinho, kdb, marmoush behind haaland so the failure to score is down to the tactics.

perhaps it's just thr disappointment of today but I'm anticipating a proper capitulation now and throwing away CL football next season. Pep isn't going to change anything tactically and so the personnel doesn't matter as they'll all be aiming to do the same thing.

because you wouldnt start the race with no left stub axle, and a botched bit in its place
you wouldnt start the race with no right stub axle and and old used one that was worn out sat on shelf
you wouldnt start the season with no replacement steering wheel
you wouldnt start the season with an engine with already worn out piston rings and no replacements

and if you did then the person responsible would be sacked

Can we stop with the fucking F1 analogy please.

Tbf he’s been shit at penalties. I had more confidence with Marmoush at that moment than Haaland standing there. Hindsight hey?
We as a side are shit at penalties. We miss so many.

Everything we do is too slow.

That **** Shearer shouting and demanding their keeper was not sent off “as Haaland was going away from goal” doing his best Ratboy impression, only to admit after the game “he got away with one” was vile. What a disingenuous fucking piece of shit he is. These City haters who go to extreme lengths to lie should have the shit kicked out of them. Come back the real governors of the 80s, all is forgiven.

Was bringing on Echeverria ineffect sending a message to some on the bench their time at City is up?? Could not get my head around that one, next two games will be tough and that World Club Cup is not ideal timing at all. At least we are spared the media circus of a game versus the dippers for the charity shield.
I thought it was just a bit of a wild card, worth a punt when our theoretical best XI were probably the ones that were already in the field. Let's face it, whatever Pep had done there would have been plenty calling it out on here.

Why have we gone from overloading wide areas, Getting beyond teams down the sides playing that pass in the channel in between the centre back and full back for our overlapping player to get onto and pull it back for a tap in...To now playing it out wide to pass it back inside to a congested area in which there's absolutely no space and near impossible to break down...
I’d be pointing the fuck to where I needed the wide man to go if I kept getting they inside ball…
At the very least it would separate the fullback a bit…

Not asking to win everything every year.

But CL qualification should be a minimum. And we clinging on to that as it stands.

And as eating our words goes. What's your predictions for next year then? Win the lot?

Unless major surgery is carried out on this squad (your own words say they don't listen to Pep anyway), then we will continue to struggle to challenge next season.

A lot of money to be made from it - which we do need.
I think to claim we need it is a bit of a stretch but it's certainly worth having. At one point I even wondered if we were deliberately holding back on pushing for the title or anything else and saving it for the CWC because to the winners it's worth far more than the PL, FAC and CL combined. Financially it would make a hell of a lot of sense to make sure we had a fresh squad for the tournament.

You mean these last few games in which we are the only PL team to have not been beaten (last 6) until today, 4 of which we won?

With fans like you lot, if I was a City player right now I'd be saying fuck the lot of you and wouldn't give a toss whether I won the last 2 games or not.
They probably don't care anyway. Opening a pay cheque with a 6 figure sum attached softens the blow.

Correct. Everything is like a training drill, you cant attack until the other side have reset.

We give the ball to our wingers with no room to work with where every opposition player has had ample time to get themselves into position and set and expect them to do what exactly? No room to run, no room to dribble and no movement off the ball, stick a prime Messi in this current version of us and he'd look useless too.
