Crystal Palace (N) | FA Cup Final | Post Match Thread

We went for food after they got the cup (yes did stay and applaud).

Walking back to the train, it was great to see City fans congratulating the Palace fans, and hearing them say things like "best day of my life" etc.

No hard feelings to them, not sure they deserved to be the winners, but they deserved to win because they scored and we didn't, and what better chance than a penalty. I thought we controlled the game, but there was no urgency, and when you get 10 added minutes, FFS at least have a shot.

Final point, nice to see a new name on the trophy, just annoying it was at our expense.

What a farce striding out at Wembley for a cup final and not knowing who has the responsibility to take a penalty should we get one, wtf do the players and coaches actually talk about.
I’m in here Fkin shithouse input from a supposedly world striker Myself like most on here scored loads then missed one but were right back on it Really pissed off /annoyed with Haaland today Cost us

No I'm not a spoilt fucking brat ,so no I don't expect to win everything next year you fucking blurt ,go and fuck off and support the scousers seems more like your kind of team , just don't be so fucking entitled, and count your blessings that you have witnessed what you have, I never thought I'd see us win fuck all ever ffs, look at what I said the team is aged it needs recruitment fresh legs, it will happen probably not overnight and to be honest I couldn't give a shit, I will support them whatever happens and whoever plays or manages us Pep is still the best in the game so fucking grow up.
That's what makes me laugh with all these entitled wannabe world class coaches , they all know best and think he's the worst manager in the league because we've had a bad run. I still think had it not been for the extensive injury list, we would have been challenging for the title and CL again. 18 PL teams didn't reach the cup final, and despite everything we're still highly likely to finish in a CL spot despite what the doom-mongers on here think.

At the time we were on that really bad patch, Liverpool's starting XI was actually older than ours but you haven't heard anybody mention that. I also think that because we've been playing 60+ matches a season for the past few seasons non-stop plus all the international matches the players have played had taken it's toll, it's bound to, but nobody thinks about that either. No team ever has consistently played so many matches over the period of the last, say, 5-6 years of so and probably beyond.

Haaland picked the ball up, kissed it, but the prolonged delay as that cheating bastard on VAR tried to find a reason to overrule the penalty seemed to unnerve him. Shit as we were the PIGMOB bastards played their part.
Yes but even so Step up Haaland an do your fkin job Really fkd off

I'm not going to broadcast it on here, but once the fans know, they'll regret the criticism of him.
So you know what these "health issues" are that Phil Foden has, You can say he has heath issues but it's top secret and you can't broadcast it...

Phil Foden "Hey Harry, Don't broadcast my health issues on bluemoon".

Absolutely fucked off with today and the whole season tbqh, nobody can be surprised that we lost after last Saturdays shambles at Southampton. That should've been a huge warning sign to our top brass that this current squad is simply not good enough. I'm starting to think we need a fresh start from the top as well, Pep has taken us as far as possible and it's now come to a shuddering halt. He's been shit this season allowed the players to coast, not good enough. Thanks for everything, the best manager we have ever had but fresh ideas are needed
One season like this in nine years is remarkable - the guys are human and not robotic. It's taken quite a few years for us to have a trophyless season - incredible.

He’s so cumbersome, it’s almost docile. If he’s playing next season, then we are stuffed, one of about 12 that need to go.

opposition must love it when we have 80% possession but of that most of it is with our centre backs, even when they are advanced they play shite floaty crosses, amazes me how limited some players are for their 1/4 million a week, surely it doesn’t matter a fuck what position you are you should be able to whip the ball in with some pace on it. I fear the golden age is done unless the summer is special, January’s window returned very little for 200m, we still ended up with Dad’s Army on the pitch today, and if Grealish couldn’t get any minutes today he may as well move on

Bernardo worked his bollocks off as usual and was our best player -the 2 wingers failed -Savinho dismally -Doku slightly less dismal -but neither are good enough to be other than squad players and here we are depending on them to create for us -and guess what??

The re-build can’t come soon enough -we need a complete re-set -cos this type of performance just isn’t good enough
There were 2 players on Savinho every time and at least 3 or 4 between Doku and anybody who might have been in the centre. We need to move for them, not expect them to dribble around half the defence to get the ball in every time. I can't think of a winner in the Prem who looks more dangerous than Doku, I think Savio probably needs a bit of confidence but he's young yet, but you have to work with them.

People on BM have said the same thing - more specific though.

But in a major final, you hope both referee and VAR can get a major decision right for the good of the game
Yes, maybe it doesn't change Palace winning the cup because City did not turn up, but the pen save and Doku shot is not saved by the sub keeper

2 major chances Henderson doesn't save because he's in the tunnel watching
2 major chances that might not have happened had the red card been awarded.

Always thought you were better than this. Not really sure what you expected to change behind the scenes from last week to this regardless of whatever issues you might think there is.
