BBC News going with the narrative of no black managers in the PL now....
He was useless last time round , a real dinosaur and not very forward looking by ParrishHodgson officially in talks.
Poor cunts.
It is a mildly surprising stat, given the amount of top notch black players there's been in the PL. Is there a "glass ceiling" in place, that stops them getting a chance to manage professional clubs (there's not many in the EFL either, I think)? That being said, I'm pretty sure that him getting the push this morning wasn't simply an Ali G "is it cos I's black" moment. They've been poor since the resumption after the world cup. Only 1 win in 13 PL games.BBC News going with the narrative of no black managers in the PL now....
I think in terms of numbers of black players to managers, the main point to consider also is how many English - even British - managers are there? It is a mildly surprising stat, given the amount of top notch black players there's been in the PL. Jones? The one at Southampton? He got the push a few weeks back. And he was Welsh, anyway. As others have subsequently pointed out, Dyche is on that short list of English managers.I think in terms of numbers of black players to managers, the main point to consider also is how many English - even British - managers are there?
Howe, Moyes, Jones, Cooper and the bloke at Bournmouth. Anymore? And 3 of those could be relegated (or sacked) by the end of the season.
Of course, Kompany will be a PL manager next season.
