Sorry if this is a stupid question but they are being punished not city so why can't our fans be there and they get no money from ticket sales?
It's not a stupid question Kaz.

There are always a range of possible sanctions UEFA could have imposed on CSKA which would not have punished the other club as well. As you stated the game could have been played with visiting fans only allowed into the ground. UEFA could have made them play both legs away from home with a ban on CSKA fans for both games. This advantages the other club, rather than them being caught up in the collateral damage. UEFA could have kicked them out of the competition for a period of time.

What I don't understand is why effectively UEFA are punishing the other clubs and supporters when they have done nothing wrong.

Once again the collective dunderheads of UEFA have failed to make a sensible decision.

Meanwhile City are left to compensate fans who have already forked out substantial amounts of money for the trip.

No wonder City fans are disillusioned with the dopes running that organisation.

Thanks for the reply
I am really not bothered about this competition, domestic trophy's is where it's at for me but i feel for those of us that do want to go but can't despite having done nothing wrong, doesn't make sense to me

At least City will have the benefit of playing in a ground without any atmosphere as apparently it's something they're used to

The statement from Uefa made no mention of MCFC receiving compensation for loss of ticket sales at Etihad due to ban on travelling Moscovites!

No mention of the same Moscovites being barred from Munich!

Are Uefa penalising MCFC unfairly again.

How does this penalise City - the tickets for CSKA are now sold for home supporters instead! Problem is - can we sell them, though it could be said that it is an opportunity for a continuous singing section to improve the 'atmosphere'. Don't hold your breath though.

Get the price right and we can have a full ground of blues for this one. Great chance for an Atmosphere experiment by having the designated away section devoted to a singing section. Lots of time to organise and get sorted. A full end of singing blues behind the goal would be a sight worth seeing and hearing.

City obviously not penalised if the away seats can be sold to home supporters but is that the case?
Good idea of getting the price right and the ground bursting with Blues..........

Monkey chants were what I heard. Would have been better if they just kicked them out.
At the World Cup?

Let another country host both the 2018 and 2022 ones - it is a pretty obvious solution.

Italy...

I do not think that there is any country in Europe without problems with hooligans, lunatics, racists - or maybe just troublemakers as I think that is the main idea behind this. It is not fans of the club because as a fan I know what happens to my club (and my fellow fans) when I misbehave in such a way... - and that is just Europe...

There is regions in Germany in which I would not want to live if I am of African heritage... - and I believe that the German society today is one of the most modern in that respect in Europe.

There is other more important reasons why I do not want the World Cup to be in Russia...

Feel exactly the same. One of the many reasons I'm not bothered about the UCL. Sure I want City to win every game they play and win every trophy possible but I prefer the EPL and FA Cup over the UCL any day of the week and twice on Sundays but for those traveling fans who fork out good money and scheduled their lives to be able to take these trips to support their club I really feel for. Typical UEFA. If they ever made a sensible decision I'd probably die of shock.

What the fuck do you wanna say? That there's racism in every country, but Russia still shouldn't host WC? It can help Russia to beat racism. And the only country that is ready to host WC in 2018 instead of Russia is, I guess, England, but there're too many covetous mean football officials and such people in government at all, so they are simply not able to agree with themselves.

As it is four years off it would not be hard to move it. Maybe to Ukraine?

Ahah) tbs, could you name any country except England? Maybe USA btw, but there's the same problem as in England - they are simply not able to agree with themselves.

Yes, I want to say that there is racism in a lot clubs in a lot countries. And I do not think that the problem here really is racism (CSKA Moscow has black players and I do not think they get abused by own fans) but trouble makers.

Yes, I think that racism in Russia is higher than in a lot other countries in Europe. That is not my point. I cannot tell if CSKA Moscow has more racist fans than other clubs are - they have more fans that make trouble and use this.

My point is that Russia should not have the World Cup because of political reasons like e.g. the whole Krim story. Not that racism is not an issue.

I hope you understand what I mean there.

Why trouble maker? A real fan - a fan with interest in his club and football - no matter what more or less mainstream opinions he has - does not do anything that harms his club and the fellow fans. Like the hooligans - the guys that make fights around matches are not the biggest fans but guys that like to beat the shit out of each other...

Clubs have to do something against this types of fans - and yes - the local FAs and the UEFA has to fine the clubs because if they do not a lot clubs do not do anything against.

Oh - and yes, I guess I have to add something to be not misunderstood. I do not think other teams and their fans should be harmed by this fine - and you and your fans as well as my club Bayern and its fans are harmed by it.
