Chicken madras is my fave although I do like a bit of saag gosht occasionally. Unfortunately the curry houses I've tried in Perth have poor so far with the only exception being a place that had UK trained chef.

my mate has a place in mandrah where he stays for about 5 months a year, he reckons what he misses in indian cuisine is made up for by having fantastic seafood restaurants even though everywhere shuts at 9 pm
I was in Perth a couple of years ago and spent a few days in Mandurah. I can vouch for the sea food there. My son reckoned it was the best fish and chips he'd ever had at Cicerellos.

Back to curry though, Lamb Jalfrezi for me with pilau rice and garlic naan. Spicy Hut in Rusholme or Namaste Nepal in West Didsbury.

When I was 16 I had a chicken madras, on the bone in a curry house near norwebs main offices near rusholme. Sorry cannot think of the road.when I finished I asked to take it away and they put the leftover chicken in a tray and the sauce in a sterilised milk bottle.they had 2 toilets in there as well one for blokes and women and the other for students.my fav ATM chicken karahi from mugli in knutsford.

If you are, make sure you stop over in KL for a few days, the curries here are wonderful!!

I had a very good lamb rogan josh not long ago at the Bull in Old Glossop.

I mentioned that upstairs once. PB shouted at me for going off topic. I think it was in one of the Dzeko threads and my attention must have wandered briefly.

Lamb Madras. I once ate in a curry house that had a small section on the menu saying "Suicidal dishes available at your request."
The Plaza on Upper Brook Street used to do a "suicide". The place was a real dive but the food was pretty good.

IIRC that was the one that used to do a mixed grill with cabbage and the water jugs were basically anything that held water, mainly plant pots, vases and milk bottles. None of the chairs, tables and cutlery matched and the lino was non existentent. Also known as Charlies,I think.

Yep - was also known as Charlies. My uncle used to take us there as a "treat". Was a shithole and the food wasn't even that good either but the place did have a certain charm. Fond memories of lapping at a suicide like a dog at a bowl of water in a heatwave, and then your tongue throbbing like a whores flap after a weekend shift.

Anyway, for the record, chicken tikka and keema dopiaza.
