My mate reckons he backed the winner at 171/1 for £2 in running once the japanese horse passed it...

To be honest it must of gone to 999/1 at one point.

Sorry but Camelot is not a world class horse. No excuses now.

Sorry mate, but that is just nonsense.
You don't win the 2000 Guineas,English Derby and Irish Derby unless you are world class.
I was there yesterday and Camelot,(like most of the field),clearly hated going that was like glue,so you can pretty much ignore this result, and the horse has also had a busy season, and is bound to need a rest.
Hopefully we will see the best of him next summer after a well-earned break.

Must admit i was watching the o brien interview afterwards, and i was just suprised he run it
He just kept going on to matt chapman about the ground saying he hates it and its been a long season..
Why run the horse then?

Anyway did you end up backing Orfevre?
I'm sure every man and his dog who did back it was doing handstands 200 yards from home..

Got to give the winner credit though.

Yeah - the winner won on merit - just stayed longer than the mother-in-law and got home on the going.
Very few of them got home, and they were strung out like a three mile chase at Cheltenham.
I did Orfevre and though it was a done deal mate, but that's racing.

But what has Camelot beat? There was a picture I posted a while back which showed he has beat very little. Good horse yes, world class not in my eyes. Hope you had a good day out though mate.

To be fair, you can only beat the opposition you face, mate.
I just think he trained off a bit,and obviously running on a bog didn't help,as he's very much a top of the ground horse, and this was just one race too many after the Leger.
Brilliant day out in Paris - loads of Brits and Irish there,so good craic, although today's racing is a bit of a comedown!

Me and a few mates thinking about it next year. Did you stay down there? How expensive is it? Looks like a top day out. Can't wait till Cheltenham now and it's bloody ages away!!
