Dangerous Dogs

That’s over the top in my opinion, and what do you mean “public places”? Is that everywhere outside the home? That would make exercising some breeds rather difficult. My experience was on a public footpath, but not that the dog wasn’t on a lead, rather that its owner didn’t understand the danger of the situation and how his dog might react to mine. That’s what needs educating to some.
Yes everywhere outside the home

Chatting to a lad on holiday who was with his wife and their beautiful 18 month old daughter. We got into a conversation about dangerous dogs, I was quite shocked when he told me he had an xl, something he had always wanted. Sadly he sold his dog more than his daughter, how big and soft it was, how his daughter would pull it's ears and play with his loving dopey dog. He mentioned how people would cross the road to avoid the dog whilst he was walking it, but said it being unnecessary because the dog was a big softy. I could only grimace, saying it might act big soft and cuddly, but somewhere inside it's brain, like any dog had a nasty side. I worry for his little girl.
From either of his preferences he should be strung up in public

Daughters owned Akitas and we've owned a few Rottweilers over the years that were the personification of politeness, good mannerism, sweet dispositional affection-ism coupled with love and peace toward their alt-doggie counterparts. All being KC registered and bred for temperament and show.

The daughters last two Akitas were from a north west show breeder with cruft's qualifiers and champions by the bucketful. See doggie picture threads for Akita and type. Our last Rottie a scouser from Birkenhead possessing zero cruft's potential, and was basically a full time cosseted fat fook that was hooked on donner kebabs and TV.

I'd happily go along with certain breeds being licensed and as a condition of their license be muzzled when in public and kept on a lead. If the licensing conditions were not met maybe a substantial fine and or seizure of the dog.

RIP Fusion passed away on Christmas day 2022 aged 10.

All her Akitas were free as the gent was a responsible show/breeder that adored his animals. He placed them into loving family homes when their show days were finished.

People should have to be certified to have a dog by a certification body explaining what it is to own train and live with a dog. Bring back the dog license in a new form. Attacks and bad ownership would be reduced.

Anyone who doesn’t think these dogs should be banned should watch these two videos “Man Killed In Horrific Bully Xl Attack In Stonnall” and “11 Years Old Girl Attacked By 'XL Bully' Dog“

There is much worse content out there of people being murdered by these dogs and suffering horrific injuries, there is no need to keep a dog capable of this.

Having seen two these dogs close up set upon a little boy and fortunately only give him the scare of his life, I’m in doubt all these dogs should be banned and destroyed

Xl bully banned 1st of Feb..just ban the fuckers now

Most of the rules are uninforcable , if you abandon one for instance and it is not chipped how will the police know who the owner was ? How much time are the police going to spend on this when they are ignoring other crimes already ?

Exactly as I predicted, this morning in my local park two young men parked up a pick-up truck and out poured five stunning Boerboel pups. They were immediately joined by a local XL Bully breeder on his bike. For those who don't know the breed, they are a South African Mastiff. The breed standard is for a weight between 68kg and 91kg. This is an average of 25 to 30kg above the XL Bully.

The American Kennel Club states: '
The imposing Boerboel is devoted to protecting the people and places he loves. Training and socialization should begin early, before a pup becomes a dominant adult. This is a trainable, versatile breed, eager to spend time with their adored humans. Still, a Boerboel might be way too much dog for the novice owner to handle.

Banning dog breeds is a complete nonsense. All that happens, is exactly what will now be happening as XL breeders move on to the next molosser that they can make money from, willing to serve the demand of clients who will not give a toss about the law but want a big, powerful dog.
