Dangerous Dogs

My 10 stone soft shite is trying to crawl up her own arse to get away from them and the other owners laugh thinking its funny

From 1981, 105 people were killed by dogs at an average of about 2.5 per year. Most in a year was 6 with the least being 0.

In 2023 there were 16, with 8 by XL Bullies.

These deaths are, of course the tip of the iceberg, with many times more people hospitalised and thousands more attacked.

It can’t be that difficult to pass a law making it compulsory for all dogs to be muzzled and on a lead, whenever they’re out of the house.
All dogs really ?

Nope. She's an english mastiff x saint bernard. There is actually a picture of her and her mum when she was a puppy.
People are being judgemental on the size of a dog and assuming because it's big it's nasty.
I appreciate that the bigger the dog, the more damage they can do but people shouldn't instantly assume a big dog is a menace.

I don’t think people do think that, clearly breeds come into account but if someone is scared of a dog though, then a big dog of any breed and particularly those that have a certain look are going to be intimidated by them.

That’s part of being a responsible dog owner. Don’t allow a dog off the lead anywhere where there could be anyone that wouldn’t appreciate it.

Should start muzzling the owners, they’re the bad fukers

19 year old girl killed in Bristol by dog believed to be of the banned XL Bully breed.
2 arrested on suspicion of offences under the dangerous dogs act.
Are these breeds really dogs as we know them?
Are they fuck - they are like wild animals.
Should be arrested for manslaughter. If your dog kills someone, you should do the time.

I'm more wary of small dogs. They seem to think trying to attack a bigger dog is like a badge of honour.
Spaniels and french bulldogs are usually the worst
I'll take my chances with any of those two over being attacked by a beast of a dog that shouldn't be kept as a pet.
Not saying yours is a killer but why do people have huge dogs that are capable of causing serious damage or worse as pets,is it an inferiority thing ?

Yep. Every single one of them.
Or just be a sensible owner, and keep your dog on a lead at all times, and try and avoid walking directly past other dogs where possible.

If everyone did that, it would prevent 99% of incidents, with the odd freak incident not being able to be prevented.

Also, if my dog is muzzled, how do I give him the shit load of treats he wants for doing things like crossing a road!!!

I was on St annes dunes/ beach once with my friends Jack Russell (soft as fuck runs away from poodles)

Bloke with a big Alsation which was loose running about .....Dog comes bounding over and starts to bark and threaten said Jack Russell. I had to pick the dog up and this **** just watches from a distance.

My language was choice and he got the message but what a ****. If it had been just him and me and no dogs he'd have been eating sand and pebbles.

My dog is 8 now and she's never been off her lead once, we also use an easy leader as well.
Don't take her near other dogs either as she's been attacked 3 times, never once fought back, just tried to hide behind us as she was being bitten.

Same with ours, he's 6 in September and never been off the lead other than when he goes to a daycare for dogs once a week where they rent a private field, or when we book him onto a private field ourselves.

I've no interest in engaging with other humans whilst out walking, so just keep him away and cross the road if I see a dog coming!

He's more interested in humans than dogs anyway

Some people see their Dogs only as they see them, I have met people who think that their Dogs can do no wrong and that a 12 stone Dog bounding up to you unwelcomed shouldn't be a problem.

The "Small Dogs are worse" doesn't cut the mustard when Cujo is ripping your throat out after taking out your Chihuahua :)

was like having a "child ripped away"

When you humanise an animal to that degree you are most definitely part of the problem, now we all know pets are part of our family but the language used here is frightening.

If you have a Dog of that size and power you should expect a nod from the plod IMHO, the "My Dog is lovely with children" line shouldn't be considered a viable defence.

There's a big fuck off mutt just moved in our street. When i go past with my little mutt the neighbour mutt goes mad, banging on the window trying to get through. It will get a shock if it ever does..
