1) He was FREE.
2) He Knows Pep's Style
3) He is a serial Winner
4) He could keep Walkers price down. Now Levy can ask whatever he wants. Even 70M.
5) There is no other fullback who can compliment and play at his level. All the ones available or we can buy is certainly below his, and likes of Carvajal and Fabinho and Kimmich isn't moving anywhere.
So you see missing on Alves was a big fucking mess.

It is quite a big setback. Signing a top quality right back will not be easyIf indeed, he has joined PSG, it hardly matters, half the ones flapping about it, didn't want him because of his age anyways, it's laughable!

Its an inconvenience given the fact the club thought they had him in the bag,but players/people are ****s these days and shit happens.Of course it's a big deal. In a much more inflated market than what Cookie worked in. Cookie could blow the competition out of the water, Txiki doesn't have that luxury, be realistic.
I prefer Walker to Alves, younger, quicker, and knows the league.I had come to the view that signing Alves would have given us space to sign an up and coming RB rather than Walker.
