Great "short term" fix.....but this signing alone doesnt answer our long term problems at RB. Hopefully he's happy to come in as a part-time/squad player. Sorry all, cant get over excited about this signing just yet, need to see how one of the oldest players in the squad handles the prem first....have concerns but I do like/understand the signing but wont be over the blue moon until Walker signs!;)

The great thing about Alves and potentially Sanchez is that they both buy in whole heartedly to peps style of play and that will emirate through the squad, for example, a young Gabriel Jesus will watch the way his compatriot and club mate Dani alves has this winning mentality that is unfettered by the football pitch and this will emanate through the club hopefully meaning that this drive and ambition is bred into the young crop of players we have coming through

Spot on. It can't be overstated how important it is to add the right mentality as well as the right technical quality to the squad. Guys like Sanchez and Alves ... they don't allow the kind of meek surrenders which we've turned into an art form in the last few years. They will be the living embodiment of what Pep wants on the pitch.

Saw what you did there - very clever :)

Hes one crazy mofo, dresses like Bruno Mars and still got it on the pitch,a snip at £5m, Ibra pulled trees up for United and Id expect similar from Alves-exactly the right time and the right place.

I'm surprised you approve of this deal if i'm honest. Thought maybe you'd go along with those who say at that age it's a backwards step!

Two things from watching that video, going forward he needs doubling up on which will give Sterling or Jesus on the right loads of freedom, secondly with his passing I could see him playing games at pivot.
