Dani Olmo

Watched Arsenal v Ipswich tonight. First half, Arsenal encountered the same issue we always face, packed and determined defence. They struggled to create, like we do at the moment.

Difference was, when they lost the ball they swarmed all over Ipswich, gave them no time or options, and won the ball back.

Like we used to do.

Main difference to me, was almost all the Arsenal players are probably 23-28 years old. Ours are either younger than that, or older than that. Not got the legs for closing down the way Arsenal did tonight.
and if they beat press they fall on floor hold head

I dont disagree we need creativity at all

However the most pressing issue is the way teams just stroll through the middle of our midfield (due to some of the players you mention actually) .....same goals every week

DM
RB absolutely needed - plus probably a centre back....then put the icing on the cake

Teams are not scared of our central midfield area with the constant short back and side passes and lack of dynamism, they know there's no incisive pass coming so are willing to let our current ones pass side to side.

It was the perfect way to put it when @Nightmare Walking said "no point in bringing the woman home if you are impotent", as there's not an ounce of creative endeavour in the middle.

The threat of a top threaded ball by Dani Olmo to either winger making a run would be enough to force teams to open up, these teams don't care about pressing our non creative CM's and are cramming their area full with so many players around Haaland, they'd think twice about committing so many in there if someone with Olmo's vision was picking out passes.

For a free it'd be a complete no brainer and for that nobody can really complain about it, so if he'd be willing to join we should be all over it and getting Gvardiol to twist his arm.

I wouldn't be surprised if he thought about rejoining RB Leipzig instead, while also demanding a low release clause to then allow him to rejoin Barca.

If he's had enough of Barca though and fancies joining us rather than stay there, we'd be batshit crazy not to go for it he'd definitely be an improvement on what we have.

If this is an easy signing and doesn’t take too much time then ok. However we have limited time and probably skilled people to be trying to get players we don’t really need or want in January. There are others

Just cancel the rest of the Ferran Torres debt Barca owe us to bring him in. Quality player we need all the help can get right now

Offer Barca a loan until the end of the season if they are allowed to keep his registration, if not sign him on a free, at the very worst you move him on in a couple of years for profit.

Thus could be a situation the footballing gods have brought to our table.
