Dani Olmo

Not a priority…?? Its January and we are in a huge mess creatively. Slim pickings right now and a risk with his injury record for sure. But having seen us this season, it is a huge priority to improve this area imo…

Olmo may not be the very top of the tree but in the current circumstances we surely have to look at this option seriously!!
We currently have 2 slots open for new signings, we can make it 3 by removing rodri for the rest of the season, we can make a maximum of 3 amendments to the squad for CL so thats the maximum number of players we can bring in. The priority is a holding midfielder and a minimum of 1 and probably 2 defenders. That's 3 already, next on the list would be a striker, considering we have a grand total of 1 on the books but even that will likely have to wait. We have plenty of players who can be creative, its pretty much dead last on immediate needs.

The lack of creativity stems from the awful tactics not the need to replace players. Kdb is the best there's ever been, foden is the current premier league player of the year, doku is statistically the second best dribbler in the league, savinho was voted 4th best young footballer on the planet. Bobb isn't far off a return now. Plenty.

What we need most is a defensive midfielder...buy all the creativeness you want
..we will continue to leak goals with ease and lose games
It’s not a case of one or the other.

We need a right back, a defensive midfielder, two creative midfielders and striker.

That’s only to cover the 30+ year olds soon to be leaving or gaps in the squad currently, never mind taking us back up to challenge for the title.

If we can get one of those in for free, we have to go for it.

Assuming we're not out of the CL with time to spare in the window.

We are in dire need of some creativity and someone who can pass through the lines.
Having Kovacic and Rico stood 5 yards apart from each other while passing it sideways to one another is getting us nowhere.
There were so many times yesterday where Savinho or Erling made a run behind the lines and one or the other of them missed it. They checked back and passed the ball to the other one.

Yes, we definitely need a more secure back line which will give us a platform to perform. But there is no point taking the woman home if you are impotent.

I dont disagree we need creativity at all

However the most pressing issue is the way teams just stroll through the middle of our midfield (due to some of the players you mention actually) .....same goals every week

RB absolutely needed - plus probably a centre back....then put the icing on the cake

Issue with getting a striker (and Im not saying we dont need one) is that that player is going to have to be happy to play second fiddle to Haaland and also be good enough to play for us......now that is going to take some finding. ....the other option is to find a player that is a goal scorer who can play anywhere across the attacking front 3..

For this reason alone Id sell Grealish and Gunod in a heartbeat...Grealish adds zero creativity and is zero goal threat and never has been despite what some people try and say about his career prior to coming to us and Gundo just cannt do that anymore ...However that aint going to happen before summer.....

Watched Arsenal v Ipswich tonight. First half, Arsenal encountered the same issue we always face, packed and determined defence. They struggled to create, like we do at the moment.

Difference was, when they lost the ball they swarmed all over Ipswich, gave them no time or options, and won the ball back.

Like we used to do.

Main difference to me, was almost all the Arsenal players are probably 23-28 years old. Ours are either younger than that, or older than that. Not got the legs for closing down the way Arsenal did tonight.
