Sounds like utter bollocks to me.....although not knocking you or your sources for it. The mere fact that he scuppered himself for Chimps League footie until February, by turning out for Liverpool's game in the EL this week, tells me he ain't going anywhere.

Have I got it wrong? Thought if a player played in a qualifier in either the CL or EL and the club concerned got through to the group stages (which Liverpool will), then that player became ineligible for any other club until the knockout stages for either competition? No?

Yeah that's wrong. One player per club is allowed to play in one comp with one team and another comp with his second team in Europe. Weird rule.

I'm not 100% but i thought players participating in qualifying rounds aren't yet cup tied. It's not until they play in the tournament proper that they become ineligable to play for another club in a European cup competition?
