If true then fair enough and good luck to him.

the actual quate in danish:

Jeg vil helst blive. Jeg kan ikke forestille mig at spille for andre klubber i England. Men man kan aldrig vide, om klubben ser det som det bedste at sælge mig.

my attempt at a translation:

I would prefer to stay. I cannot se my self playing for any other club in England, but you never know if the club thinks its best to sell me.

Thanks for clearing that up. I'm ambivalent about him tbh. Would be a great signing for anything under 20 mill, but if he wants to stay at Liverpool then fair play to him. When we were a mid-table club it's just the sort of loyalty that I used to wish for (and occasionally get) in our players. Human beings can be very complex creatures.

I was called 'deluded' for mentioning that a player (agger) might actually be loyal ( unambitious for some)

(And i'm perfectly happy if you guys don't rate him)

I've made my views on Agger clear, in that I don't think he's worth anything over £20m or the hassle in dealing with Liverpool.

But you are deluded if you think Agger isn't in control of his own destiny here.

If he really, REALLY, wants to stay at Liverpool, he only has to come out and say that. The club cannot force him to move.

Stop clinging on to this naive belief that he will be moved to City only under duress!

Sounds like if a fee can be agreed he will move

Tony Barret in The Times

Daniel Agger says he wants to remain at Anfield, despite strong interest from Manchester City. The Liverpool centre half insists that he cannot contemplate playing for another English club.

Liverpool have rejected two offers from City for the Denmark defender, whom they value at £27 million.

Prior to City showing interest in him, Agger had always maintained that he would not want to join a rival English club and his position remains unchanged despite City’s status as the Premier League champions.

The 27-year-old accepts, however, that he could be forced to the move in the event of Liverpool accepting an increased offer. “I’d rather stay,” Agger said. “I can’t imagine playing for any other club in England but you never know if the club think it’s better to sell.

“I am fine with my situation. The club will have to find out what they want to do. I’ve heard nothing from them. I’d rather stay but that decision is not up to me at the moment.

“Liverpool can do a deal even though I have two years on my contract. But I haven’t changed my mind on the subject. Sometimes you can end up in a position where it’s not your decision.
“I don’t want to be somewhere I am not wanted but I would prefer if they want me to stay. That is my priority.”

He blatantly loves it there and wants to stay, I know we are putting a positive spin on the quotes but lets be real. Good luck to him and lets go after someone that actually wants to be here.

Same here. It's been spin and insults against Agger and Liverpool fans for pages. If Agger wants to stay at Liverpool, that's his choice. Talented as Agger is, it would be a risk to buy a player who doesn't want to leave.

Good for him!,hope he stays with your lot.

David Silva who was loyal to Valencia, moved to our club for financial reasons, but he didn't turn out badly.

It's fans who are loyal. Players are commodities and they know it.

They play the game when it comes to interviews.

I like Agger. I'd love to see him at City, but only if it's cash only. If Liverpool needAgger cash to push through other deals then we can afford to sit tight. I know we need to do our own business, but we have Kolo Toure, Savic, Boyata and Richards who can play there. A lot of fans have doubts about Savic and Boyata but they are young and can improve quickly.

"Agger has recently had a new tattoo with the initials of the famous Liverpool song 'You'll Never Walk Alone' on his knuckles and the 27-year-old insists the artwork has nothing to do with his current situation"..........

What the article fails to mention is that he's had C T I D tatooed on the other hand. ;-)

Be serious. Savic was given his big chance to finally shine on Sunday and was subbed at half time.

The first half Mancini spent most of the 45 minutes berating Savic for his non-performance!

I'm all for giving kids time and experience, but Savic realy looks no better than Championship standard, and he's not a kid any more either.

We simply can't rely on him.
