Daniel Sturridge - FACTS

Do you mean the same deal that Micah, Stevie, Johnson etc were on when they were playing their first few games? Or the kind of deals that Micah and Johnson are on now - ones they got when they were established, key first team players.

If it's the first one that sounds pretty reasonable as he's clearly very talented. Can you clarify?

ps. he's still a kid and it must be difficult playing when you know every single touch will be judged. I've not been hugely impressed by some of his recent contributions but they've almost certainly been affected by the situation he's in. If blueonblue can confirm he asked for a "reasonable" deal for someone in their first season then it's not all his fault, however someone should tell him that it's not difficult to win over City fans and the odd smile or positive interview wouldn't go unnoticed (nor would a little bit of running about on the grass)

pps. I see Gelson gave his shirt to a fan after the match. Now he's someone who takes a lot of stick and seems to just get on with it.

The one fact you forgot to mention is the Fact that Sven let him run into the final year of his contract and that from day one Hughes has tried to get him to sign a new one FACT.

Not even close to the truth pal,

Danny wanted to sign from early season, for the same deal as other accademy graduates, Fact.

Hughes ducked out of meetings with him and his agent time after time, Fact.

Hughes put it about the club he could not make his mind up about Danny being any good or not, and made an offer well below what the others were getting, with a take it or leave it...........he left it, and Hughes with egg all over his face as it dawned on him he had f*cked up.............Then the stories started, Fact

There are still members of staff trying to pursade Danny to stay ( On the grounds Hughes wont last long ) at the club he loves, but he feels sh*t on, an I dont blame him, an thats a f*ckin Fact as well.

you would think he fuckin hated city with his attitude todaythe only time i expect a player not to celebrate a goal is if it is a former team as a sign for respect.

and if he loved city soo much he would know the score wuth where we are going and his arrogence suggests he believes he is a superb player
so he sould know there would be a future for him....

where are these facts sourced from?

Sturridge is quality and WILL b in an England squad within 3 years , some great posts on here tonight some agreein with my opinon and some not , but Sturridge wil not b here if Hughes is next year , some people seem 2 know nothin about football on here its a real shame

it was clear for anyone to see the situation today..sturridge came on..every touch he made was a complete nightmare, and he got pelters. Anyonewho's played the game at ANY level knows what it's like when everything you touch turns to sh*t...that was Danny's game today.

He eventually got hs goal, but, rightly so, didn't run around kissing his badge and jumping for joy..he had a shit game..he knew it, we knew it, so no celebration ..end of.

I for one would love to see him picked again next week, as I was one of the 3,000 or so bouncing around like a nutter when he turned things around at Blackburn, and he HAS got something special..in fact his first shot today, on another day could have curled into the top corner, and it would have been a different story.

Forget media stories, remeber he's a kid, by all means give him some stick if he deserves it..but don't forget sometimes the kids need an arm around the shoulder to bring em on...

If he stays,he stays.

If he thinks he can do better elsewhere-then great.

For the first time in years, the immediate future of MCFC is not dependant on whether one player or his agent thinks he's the dogs,"needs" to play in the CL or would rather play for another "bigger" club.

His loss.

No it certainly is not, unfortunatly its under the threat of the most clueless manager and poor judge of players we have ever had.

If he thinks he can do better elsewhere-then great.

He has know that from chelski offering £3 million for him aged 17, an offer that carried a far bigger pay rise than the basic deal then promised by SP when he moved over to carrington, that deal being the standard from accademy to first team contract Richards, Hart,Smichal, Ireland, johnson, and the others got.........and all he wanted.

He wanted to play for City, so he turned them down flat, only to be shafted by Hughes and made a scapegoat because he wont be browbeaten by the arrogant tw*t who put it about he didn`t rate him,

Hughes is now picking him for games and trying to back peddle on whats gone on behind closed doors, to little to late I fear, Danny has lost any trust in Hughes and is narked at the stories leaked to the media.

i've heard this theory a couple of times but never been able to find anything to back it up with. all the stories have been distressing. far too many things like this have come out of the club this year. I honestly thought with ADUGs arrival and the departure of a lot of the old guard, we wouldnt be reading shit spread from within the club anymore. Some of it, although not neccesarily this, does seem to come from the management team. I cant put into words how much it pisses me off.

ok, I can. far more than results on the pitch.

but as i dont have any conclusive proof as to who is saying what, I have tried not to think about it too much.

I remember reading an article in the independant in november basically slating over half the squad, that read exactly like it came from a briefing by one of the coaching staff, but I found it beyond belief that anyone would think it was a good idea to do something like that, so I kind of ignored it. Unfortunately, it all rang true. I still have strong suspicions that it is the M O of certain people on the coaching staff, but as I know there are other unhelpful forces at work, I have to give them the benifit of the doubt.

Your suspitions on the stories being fed to the media are one of the main reasons Danny is so narked,

Johnson has also been the victim of some outragious smears, while coincidently any player who has a run in with Hughes or his staff is likely to see some form of suggestion in the media on lack of effort or loyalty.

Can you say ANYTHING without writing Fact at the end?

Yes I can :) , that was just a little pop at one of the early posters who repeats the drivel of £70k a week demands, and Hughes trying to get him to sign, who then ends it with "Fact" when I know for certain this is not even close to the truth.

Well i've read every post on this thread and nobody has done what the OP asked and come up with any facts that justify a young City player who's just scored being labelled 'arrogant', 'shit', or 'big-headed'.

imo this lad will be a class player, has the self belief all good strikers have, but saying that he is 19 and probably being advisd by other parties trying to cash in on his potential, hope he see's sense and gets his head down and let his feet do the talking. he wont get a better opportunity to earn good dough and play first team football, i can understand the frustration fans have with him.
