Nurse Ratched on standbyIf anyone thinks for one second we’re replacing Sergio Aguero with Danny Ings then you need sectioning into a mental asylum.
But our forwards aren't expected to just hang about the 6 yard box and knock in chances created.I wouldn't be against Ings if it wasn't for his injuries. I don't mind getting a striker that isn't a huge name as long as they can make the most of the chances we create i'm good.
I'm not mate, and I'd rather us sign nobody than have an injury plagued striker on the booksFrom weeks ago rehashed like all media outlets does don’t fall for it

Norberto Obody a great Nigerian up and coming strikerWhose that?
Ings is nowhere near the level we need. He’s an average journeyman pro not the kind of prolific star striker to lead a club to CL glory or fire us to the title.
If we’re considering him then we can’t be serious about trying to win the CL, or even keeping our title. He’s a mid table signing at best.
If we don’t sign one of Haaland, or Kane, Mbappe or Lukaku this summer then I think there‘s a real risk we won’t win anything next season. We just wouldn’t have enough consistent goal scoring in the team.

Would be a good move for Ings.

Kane.....No way is Mr Ings good looking enough to be a City striker.
Come on folk... get a grip.

We don’t need to sign a backup. Ferran is there, we played most parts of this season without a striker and then delap can be last resort. I didn’t even mention Jesus because I assume he might be leaving but there is still a huge possibility he goes nowhereLet's be absolutely honest about all this, if we sign Kane or Haaland, we still need a competent back for when they are injured. If we get Kane, we're likely to need a decent backup for part of each season.
Let's be honest over the years, the Southampton scouts have a record of picking out some pretty decent players - Mane, Bale, Shaw, Van Dijk are some of the best. I am not saying Ings is at that level, but what I am saying is that the same scouts took a player who'd been injured a lot and sidelined at Liverpool and made him into a decent player. He's done VERY well to rescue his career in my opinion.
He's got 41 goals in 97 games for Southampton. They aren't a great team, but that is a superb ratio. He's not world class, but he's very good. He won't be our first choice in a CL final, but when you want to rest Kane against teams, this lad won't let us down.
I think that's a fair point, however I would be very surprised if Jesus or Torres would get a similar goals ratio at Southampton. We don’t need to sign a backup. Actually a good post this.Let's be absolutely honest about all this, if we sign Kane or Haaland, we still need a competent back for when they are injured. If we get Kane, we're likely to need a decent backup for part of each season.
