Do you think yer man could have been given "a drink" by Billings agent to give the lad some publicity ;-)
I love City and rarely miss a game. I would say Shearer is right. If we continue to defend in the manner we have been we will be punished by better sides. If you listen to Blues at the match and in the pub discussing can we win the champions league. Nearly man for man would say no not with our defense. I think we have one of the best forward 6 in the works if you include our back up options also. One of not THE Best.
Our back 4 would be lucky to make it half way up the Premiership. A defense with a strong midfield in front should not letting in goals so easily. When teams break I think they will score. If I think that then so does the opposition and confidence is a big thing in sport. They think we only need a few chances and they are not wrong. Luckily we are so exciting and strong in other areas.
Strong enough to win the FA Cup and scrape some ground on Chelsea although probably not enough for the title.
Win the Champions League? no chance unless we are winning games 3-2 or 4-3 etc. Next year could be our year in Europe and would be worth a punt.Pep will for sure make huge changes in the summer in that area. Not all Shearer spouts is crap.
It all depends on the game...
City, collectively were decent on the night without being spectacular(sterling had one or two moments), but the young lad who won MOTM was really very good and stood out. They may have lost the game but you cant hold that against a single player who's had a great game...he was playing alongside the likes of dean whitehead for christs sake, as a stoke fan i know what that entails.
I mean i comment to my old man virtually every game on how its so obviously biased against city, some of the ref decisions have been appalling(sideshow bobs let off for chelsea standing out the most among a sea of bent decisions), particularly this season, but as for that pick of motm...no, no consipracy, no unfairness, just showing the respect you mention for the little guy who had a great game and had just been knocked out...a player who probably wont get another mention at this level for the rest of the year.
I agree with the part about "if it was gerrard" etc, but at the same time don't think it makes the choice on the night a bad one...because murphy is a scouser, and no scouse team was involved between city and huddersfield.
I'm not sure I've ever known a player from a team, beaten by a big margin ever get MOTM. Just another BBC employee having a less than subtle sly dig at City for daring to challenge the Premier League status quo.It just means we're getting to them.He wasn't motm & would only be awarded it, againt a 'lesser' team in the eyes of these establishment ****s who pollute football in this country.
He wouldn't have been motm playing for City, when we were shit, in a 1-5 v Liverpool either. I'm fucking sick of it.

We can win it. We made it to the semis last year and only just got knocked out. We're a better side this year going forward. On our day, we will rip most teams to pieces.
