Awful news, my thoughts are with his family and friends
Dave has been a Facebook friend of mine for a few years and a nice bloke who still clearly loves city and Sunderland.
My favourite player of that era, very sorry he has suffered as a result of doing something he loved and enjoyed.
This is terrible news, puts everything into perspective. When I was young I remember seeing him in the park with his kids & my dad told him we were blues. I was awestruck as he shook my hand.
film star looks & cool as fck.
best wishes big Dave.
All the best Dave and family. Football takes a very, very low priority alongside this sad news.
Puts everything else into perspective. X
A bullet of a header indeed
An absolute colossus of a player. Loved watching him. Such sad news.
One of my favourite City players. A colossus at the back. Only wish we had him now.
When the story of our great club is finally written men like Dave Watson are the lead-role players, the man was a legend whilst still playing, the perfect centre half. Some would call him an old-tme stopper but there was much more to him than that,a fabulous footballer and a huge stitch in the tapestry of our wonderful club.Looking way into the future his name will be writ large in the pantheon of our story.Best wishes to you and your family big fella.
We lost 3-2 (we were 3-0 down).
