I agree.

He has always been a great footballer but the extra workrate & ball winning he has added this season is something I never expected & he is reinventing himself. And equal credit to Pep. A midfield of Silva, KDB & Yaya would have lost 10-0 to most teams last season. And a front 3 with Silva & KDB is nowhere near as dangerous as the current one.

Silva playing deeper, is transforming the team giving spaces for pace & goals upfront but it also needs the right manager.
I think five might be stretching it, mate, but three for sure, possibly four.

He could easily play at this level for another 5 years. His game isn't reliant on pace and his vision and footballing brain is second to none. The deeper role suits him and he dictates the play from there. He could end up being our Pirlo.

So far it's working a treat but i'm not sure he can do another five years! I'd be delighted with another season or two of him being important to the side and playing an important role.

It's also important to think about the evolution of the team. The older players get the more chance of them falling off a cliff in terms of their physical capabilities. Even in a less demanding position deeper at some point Silva's body/age/injuries will catch up with him. We have to be prepared for that within the squad ( i'm sure we will be ! )

Never knew David was part Japanese!
I take it that was sarcasm? It's his mothers side if I remember right, I wonder if City will ever do a Yokohama friendly in Japan he'd be mobbed over there they are fanatic about everything. Having said that whether you're Spanish, Japanese or a City fan our Dave always makes you immensely proud when he's on form.

St David, he glides across the pitch, he very rarely gives the ball away, he very rarely gets tackled, he's always getting fouled, he has eyes in the back of his head (unlike the fat bald ginger rug wearing rag c##t) and his passing is consistently the best in the premier league. Pep said "the best player's in the world are the ones that don't give the ball away" I think Pep's words were spoken with Merlin in mind.
