David Silva - 2016/17 performances

Whenever David Silva is not in the starting line-up my heart fuckin' sinks! I'm in 323, and as soon as the teams are announced and he's not there my heart is bouncing down to L1! He is one of the most gifted midfielders of his generation. The fact that he is left-footed was never a setback for Puskas, and the fact that he never scored the number of goals people think he was entitled to, should in no way detract from a glittering career. It will be a dark day for City when he retires.
 
Thought he was top class yesterday. He didn't deserve the shit some of his teammates served up in the finishing and defending department. Shame on them, they owe David one!

Absolutely this.

All our movement is at the edge of the box and out to the sidelines with nothing at all happening inside the danger area.

He at the minimum needs those options for a pass.
 
Love the guy but he's starting to look like a passenger in this team. I know the movement of those in front of him has been poor for almost two years now but we need more from him in and around the box. The days of him being the maestro and controlling games are long gone but he still needs to contribute if he's to command a place in the starting eleven.

This isn't s knee jerk reaction and I'm not blaming him for our form but we need more from our creative players.
 
Whenever the whole team has a bad game,he always tends to 'hide'..Never one to dig us out of games...Comes to the fold only when things are 'easy'...Next season,it's either him or De Bruyne for the no 10 role..Not both since neither is a winger.

I agree with a lot of that but there's hardly a load of competition pushing him, I mean if he was to be dropped he's not going to be replaced by anyone better at the moment.
 
Him,kev and gundy foward is too many,they are getting in each others way,either gundy stays back or gets left out but we need him with dinho out

I thought that was one of the worst performances he's put in for us.

Yet he can run a game for Spain, is it him, or is it something else ?
 
Looks good when we're playing well, but can't lift the team when we're shite. Luxury player.

Didnt notice and that just about sums him up in a City shirt of late.

Not alone either!
 
Playing with 4 centre mids is doing all of them a disservice. It's no surprise none of them (dinho apart) look good since we switched formations. Sikva no gundogan need to rotate.

Spot on and so easy to see.

Gundogan was superb against Celtic on his own. he dictated the play superbly and when Kevin plays 10, centrally in behind the striker he too is superb and a real threat but shoehorning them in with Merlin is almost a crime, its indulgent and it just doesn't work.

It's so annoying. Pep had a great system and it was working brilliant. Go back to it!
 
Has been a joy to watch and has been a majestic Player for us quite possibly my favourite player of my generation but he is a passenger now.

Has never had pace but as he's getting older the game is passing him by and we can't carry him.

Have to concur with this.

Best ever city player for me, but we can't risk him in games where we can't control the tempo now.

His attempted block on their 2nd goal was criminal yesterday, even if the keeper should've done better.
