Slows down play far too much. Needs to be more incisive on the counter if we're going to get the best out of GJ, Raheem, Sane & KDB.

Too much unnecessary touches that will cost us against the better sides.

You could clearly see that against Palace, the way he picked the ball up 10 yards outside his own box, sprinted through the midfield and put Sane clean through 3 seconds later was a prime example of him slowing things down.

He dictates the pace & tempo. Heightens the tempo required and just as importantly slows it down when the time calls for it.

He's Peps go to man. Was clear before a ball was kicked this season it would be the case with his skill set and has been proved true throughout. This has been one of his most consistent seasons for us in overall contribution and he'll continue to be one of the first names on the team sheet until he calls it a day in a couple of years.
It should surprise nobody who has watched him for us over the last 6 years and watched a pep team over the same period that it'd transpire like this..

Last season POTS was easily Fernandinho's. At a stretch De Bruyne could be in with a shout.

This year there's five or six contenders. Sterling, Touré, De Bruyne, Aguero, Otamendi... right now I'd give it straight to SIlva though.

Haha good reply.

It's spot on though, people need to remember that the gameplan isn't to play at 100 miles an hour for 90 minutes. That's not sustainable. With Klopp, his insistence on the high intensity pressing all game leads to issues with fatigue, particularly when Liverpool's squad as a whole is quite weak. Pep wants to ensure we control the game. At half time the game was won. So Silva is crucial to keep a level of control. Slow it down, keep the ball, tire the opposition.

You toy with them. We've seen it from Barca and Bayern with us before. They just keep the ball and you chase and chase for it, get it and then very quickly lose it again. It's demoralising. Then they have the ability to ramp up the speed of passing and play suddenly and before you know it you've conceded.

Silva is crucial to that. It's the reason he's been involved in the past two games. De Bruyne doesn't have the same control. He wants to explode forward. Silva's position in that midfield ensures that we attack at the right times. Pep knows, all too well this season, you can be comfortable at 1-0 or 2-0 up and still fail to win a game. Pushing too hard for the winner or playing the game at too high a speed can see you over commit and end up conceding - as we have done regularly this campaign. Control is key. Silva is vital.

Chris. You might have your tv upside down.

hes on top form at the moment - having three fast attackers means silva and de bruyne have more space and time to control games - and hes scoring

Quite simply the best player I have seen in a city shirt. How the hell we are going to replace him I have no idea. He was majestic again at West ham.
I can't imagine going to watch city and him not been there
