David Silva

I think Mancini should let him go lightly in training. It always amazes me that the coaching staff allow full blooded challenges in training. Can just imagine his ankle being injured from one of Micah's blundering challenges.

Have I got this right? Mancini let him train against a side of leopards and one bit his ankle? That Mancini sure is weird.

While I have always hated cliches one thing springs to mind, can a leopard change its spots?

The obvious answer is no, I say no but a leopard can bathe in mud to temporarily mask them, then when the rain season comes that mud is washed away and the leopard is laid bare; spots and all. Now while many thought we had a lion, the kind of beast that commands the respect of the entire plain, I initially thought we had a leopard. Alas I was tricked, but I believe the rain season has come and laid bare the reality. We have a leopard, and it certainly cannot change it's spots.

Now some will say a leopard is what we want; what we need. Elegance is guaranteed with style and panache in equal measure, and you also get a predator. But really, is leopard top predator? Of course not. While many fear it there is a select few who don't, and even more than that instill the kind of fear in the leopard that is reserved only for the lowliest of herbivores. Tell me this, if leopards are so formidable why do they need to climb trees?

To get off the plain where the true beasts rule supreme.

Now I am all for leopards, but people need to realise that if we really want to rule the plain we need lions, tigers, rhinos etc. Not lowly leopards.

I have just read this and the resulting 3 pages of COMEDY GOLD.

For the first time since yesterday's match, I am laughing. I am laughing so hard, I'm sure the missus is shaking her head in the other room.

Thank you, fellow Blues!

So are you saying we should sign a leopard?

no, he says we have a leopard(Silva) but we need a lion(Messi or Ronaldo).

Reverse anthropomorphism is more about the qualities of an animal, than the quality of the animal itself. Who am I to say a lion is inherently better than a leopard?

Of course in some respects the lion is superior, but in others a leopard reigns supreme. Could a lion survive in a jungle, probably not as well as a leopard. So no I'm not questioning Silva's quality out right, just as I would never question leopard quality out right.

What I mean is we need that out right dominance of the plain, we need the other animals to tremble in our presence. You could assemble 11 of the finest Buffalo known to man but would a single lion worry? Of course not. That's what I mean.

Unless that lion is distracting the 11 Buffalo while 6 other lions creep up behind them I think your logic is flawed.

How about 2 Pandas versus a Gorilla ?

I came to this thread to see Bluemooner's opinion on Silva's form of late and all I see is a leopard discussion. I just want to add my input so here I go : I think Messi is a Jaguar ,Ronaldo is a Giraffe and Iniesta is a Tiger.
