I'd be hugely surprised and more than a little sad if Pep felt his managerial skills did not extend to getting the most out of David Silva.
Personally, I believe he's one of the players who Pep will be licking his lips at the prospect of working with.I'd be hugely surprised and more than a little sad if Pep felt his managerial skills did not extend to getting the most out of David Silva.
Spot on. He'll be our iniestaPersonally, I believe he's one of the players who Pep will be licking his lips at the prospect of working with.
Yes he did, but that's what helped Silva.Spot on. Still not convinced he will feature much under Pep especially after the influx of new players in the summer. He did well yesterday but we shouldn't kid ourselves, it was De Bruyne who made the difference.
Same with a lot of players. Some fans appear to simply dislike them, and just wait for the first mistake to hammer their point home. It's quite sad if you think about it - sitting down (or standing if you're a selfish twat!) to watch your team, and gaining enjoyment from a player's mistake, even gloating at it with those around you or online (eg- 'Hart made some decent saves, but what about that mis-kick in the 15th minute, he does too many of them'.....'Yaya had a great game, and the goal was amazing, but the lazy **** didn't track their midfielder in the 21st minute''......'Silva, yeah great pass for the only goal and wonderful game today, but he can't shoot and doesn't track back'.......'yeah, yeah Mangala had a good game, but he's still a liability and regardless of how many good games he has, he'll never be good enough'....).Just wait until his next miss placed pass, they'll be a few on here wanting to sell him to Grimsby for a £1.00 :-)
Fucking bored pointing that out to people. How the fuck can someone like Silva produce decent goalscoring passes if no fucker is making runs. Same goes for Yaya playing his passes as well - that's why we've been so bloody boring to watch, with far too many sideways passes.Yes he did, but that's what helped Silva.
For the first time in weeks, we had players running off the ball.
We had movement and players passing the ball forward.
We had some support for Sergio in De Bruyne
It is quite a thought that we have had our best, 2nd best and 3rd best players ever in the same team at the same time for the best years of their careers. All bought by Mancini (two on the same day if I recall correctly).I'd say he's the best I've ever seen in a City shirt, although Aguero is close. And Toure not far behind.
Then again I starting watching City in the 80s, so it's been slim pickings to choose from until relatively recently.

I can see Silva playing slightly deeper in the future, as his agility starts/continues to decline which will make him less effective in the number 10 role.Far from finished but i will say this, kdB is our new long term number 10 and he will be played centrally by Pep.
If we get the signings of high quality we are being linked with eg Gundogan & Pogba then there will be the opportunity for Silva to be rested if required. This would prolong the career of a wonderful, gifted footballer who is a joy to watch.
I would like to think he would be kicked less too as the opposition will have more players they need to watch out for.
We're getting the best manager in the world. It's not going to be about charging around like a loon! Silva in a midfield 3 ala iniesta behind Sergio, kev and Stirling/new signing. That's what I recon anyway.
de Bruyne never stops running from what I've seen. He doesn't look the part (to say the least) but he is surprisingly athletic.I must have missed all this 'legwork' that KDB has put in this year. I've seen top quality deliveries from set pieces and I've seen some great crosses, magical assists and sublime finishes. The 'legwork' part though, I'm not so sure.
Biggest problem Dave has had second half of season has been a lack of fitness, you can see quite easily that he isn't lean and hasn't got the sharpness in his movement. I know he is never electric quick anyway but he glides much quicker when 100% fit. Wait until he gets the boost of working with Pep, he will be back to his awesome best.
I'll assist you. He's done it in parts, but so have other players. On the whole though, he certainly isn't a box to box midfielder, and shouldn't be relied on to track back. However, and this is my view, I don't give a fuck if he tracks back, as long as we have players who are designated to this job. This is our problem though, we have 3 very good midfielders who are great at creating chances, but aren't great at tracking back (KdB, Yaya and Silva) - so, can they all play in the same team?I must have missed all this 'legwork' that KDB has put in this year.
