David White

Remember when Howard Kendall played him against Villa away when he first arrived at the club and he absolutely slaughtered them with his pace.Left City to soon and if Kendall hadn't left to go back to Everton sure he would have stayed.

He's a cock..

Only because I had a fight with him on Worsley golf course many moons ago.

Footballing wise he was a good player.

Who won? The fight.
Did he run off? Bet you couldn't catch him if he did.
Fuck he was fast.

good shout OP i was at the villa game too,he didnt have a great first touch but i still think he could of played in our team now.

First time I saw him - home to Leicester in October 1986. I thought - "who is this young lad with the jug ears?" Then got very excited to see how he motored towards the North Stand; and then less excited when he sliced the ball into it every time he got in a crossing position. He then got a goal in a home game against Villa or West Ham I think just before Christmas 86. After that it took a few years for him to get fully established - didn't he play at right back a few times too? But for a year or two in the early 90's it looked like he was turning into something special. Sad when he left.

What a brilliant claim to fame, having a scrap with David White.

Not a claim to fame at all pal. I was playing golf and he stormed onto the course for reasons not to be discussed on here. Luckily I had 3 witnesses who backed my story up when he went running to the old bill. Fuck the fact he played for city,he is a grade a fat bastard-well he was last time I was rolling around the floor with him which is quite a few yrs ago now. In relation to the poster who asked who won, I really wouldn't know but it wasn't me who rang the old bill.

Just looking back at our (the City end) each time we scored..
Seemed to go mental each time lol
How things have changed, some fans don't even look bothered now when we score!!!
Good player back in the day by the way!!

Yes, Machin played him at right back for about 3 games when there was a defensive injury crisis! Plymouth away was the first game (I think) where we won 1-0 having beat them 6-3 in the League Cup a few days before.

Will never forget his 3rd - and City's 10th - against Huddersfield.

Sorry but as a kid born in 78 i started watchin city in 86 so aa a kid i saw white, lake, redmond etc coming thru, david white will always be my hero, doesnt matter What silva, ageuro,Tevez etc do it will always be david white.

You are kidding right?

-- Wed Nov 28, 2012 6:04 pm --

For every good game he had five bad ones. Quick yes but often like an out of control express train. His crossing was at best wayward, the vast majority of the North stand ducked as he approached the line.
With Quinny he had a golden season like many others but that was it.
