Dayot Upamecano

Another one who has a half decent game and is suddenly a must have who will be a world beater the moment he puts a city shirt on!
This thread goes back back five years so hardly a case of recency bias, City have been watching him since he was a schoolboy and we have been seriously linked with him for at least 12-18 months

And we can be 100% certain the German rags have been doing the same, but tapping him up as well.

Anyone who signs him will have to persuade him to ditch them, first.

Even though he signed a new deal with a release clause next year, doesn't prevent us from buying him this summer. He is the perfect centre back and got all the attributes we are looking for + more. For anyone saying he is too young and we should go for KK, you clearly aren't looking at his ability and focusing more on the age. He has shown that he is mature for Bundesliga, and is already one of the best there. He showed last night that he was up for the challenge and even got MOTM (how often does a CB get that in a 2-1 game?). His passing is really good with BOTH feet, this would be my dream signing.

Agreed mate - but like the Arsenal fan above, this one has ‘boxed off by bayern’ written all over it.

Another year at Leipzig, then he’ll be in to replace Boateng as part of their rebuild - as sure as day follows night!

It's fucking sickening how they get away with it.

They actually represent everything which 'ruins' football, not City.

The arrogance and smothering entitlement with which they treat the rest of the Bundelisga is genuinely sickening - like you say.

They essentially view the whole of German football as a resource to be exploited to serve their success - with the National team dancing to their tune (see the Sane transfer for ample evidence), and the rest of the League apparently perfectly willing to bend over and accept their subservience in support of the Ubermensch.

All sense of fight and professional pride seems to have gone from the rest of the Bundesliga - they’re little more than an interchangeable line of witless, grinning saps willing to accept their role in the pecking order without question. It’s genuinely pathetic to see it playing out.

Their league has been completely destroyed by that morally bankrupt, preening, bore of a club - the entire German football structure is essentially one big feeder for Bayern, and the fact they accept this so eagerly makes it the most pointless, contemptible, shambolic and frankly irrelevant league in the whole of European football.

The Premier League has its share of those clubs too. Think of the Hateful 8 and those saps that supported FFP like Wigan.

True enough mate.

Although at least there are some who push against the attempts of Liverpool, United and Arsenal to return the League to their own personal plaything.

We’ve consistently refused their increasingly underhand attempts to force us back into ‘our place’, and both Sheffield United and Wolves (after a change of tactic no doubt driven by the stark realisation their own growth was being compromised by the interests of the old guard they had previously signed up to) do at least seem unwilling to dance to their tune.

There is literally no-one in the Bundesliga even half willing to put up a fight. Not a single club. It’s a pathetic shit show of a League. I genuinely don’t know why they bother!
