De Bruyne?

I think what makes this feel like the longest transfer is the player/agent have been relatively quiet while still on holiday. You would think we would have the best situation for him out of all the choices. As mentioned before, he will be an instant starter/upgrade in our team versus Bayern(who just brought in Douglas Costa) or a PSG. We offer better chances at trophies than Wolfsburg. Outside of Bayern, Bundesliga is known to have the CL spots changed from year to year. Wolfsburg don't seem to be spending big, like previous seasons. Match day revenue can't be as high as ours, Volkswagen arena ranks near the bottom in capacity. They may not want to say it publicly to keep the price high but they might need to sell KDB to bring more depth to their squad if they want to have a decent season in CL and try to secure another top 4 finish. Dortmund and Schalke will be back and healthier to challenge for those spots again.

You have heard of VW haven't you?

A few weeks ago there was a heavy fight on top of Volkswagen, unfortunately for us, the wrong guy left the company. Winterkorn, now in charge, is a huge football fan and responsible for Wolfsburg success. If Piech would have won, we would have really good chance now as he never liked the club and had no interest in it.

Bild: De Bruyne to a contract extension despite City and PSG

Despite pressure from Manchester City and PSG on the player, it is difficult to direct, but probably toward a contract extension for Kevin De Bruyne with Wolfsburg. The Belgian international has signed a new 5 year contract (it is already linked with the German club until 2019), announces Bild. The vice-champion of Germany will pay an annual salary of 8.5 million euros to the Belgian.

Nooooooooooooo

Only info I have is what I posted on Tuesday.

But yeah I have just read the Bild thing. Assume that's why it's gone so quiet on the KDB front. I know Bild are no more reliable than our media but there was a new deal in the offing for him and I know their top brass are/were very confident of him signing it.

Realistically he isn't going to stay there for all of his prime and considering the good news on Sterling, I think we are ok anyway for this season. Sterling, Nasri, Silva, Yaya, Navas and then Lopes. We are all good

I'm sorry to say this and I'm never critical of other posters (and you may even be right on this one) but you seem absolutely desperate for us to fail with any of our signings....you are always posting from the point of view that either they won't come or are not worth it.......why?

Not too dissapointed, I'm happy with Sterling coming in and hoping Nasri gets fired up more consistently. Pogba is the man I really want to see next.

Old news, as usual

Is KDB sterlings equal?? I'd say yes with knobs on.... If he signs a new deal with the buy out of 45m, so be it. The sterling deal has just measured the market for our business, I'm astounded people are missing this point!!!

If he signs a contract, one of the HLN guys on Twitter will post it as they seem on top of the KDB saga. KDB is still on holiday so hasn't signed anything yet.

+ 1

Bild really only knows Bayern stuff, they have flopped stuff like Geis to Dortmund recently. Regardless the news aren't encouraging, and if he does sign a new contract we really should just go all in for Pogba.

That's because people read what they want to read. I've said a thousand times that I hope we sign Pogba and he is worth paying over the odds for. I also think that Delph at 8m was a good signing.

I said Sterling isn't worth £50m but I also said I'm glad it's sorted.

As for De Bruyne, he's clearly a good player but I don't see where he'd fit in at City. We can't logically be trying to sign De Bruyne and Pogba because if we play with Yaya and Pogba, we need somebody behind them, not in front of them (which will either be Fernando or Fernandinho).

It's not negativity. I'm pleased we are balls deep for some good players. I'm just not getting carried away. If I'm wrong as we sign both De Bruyne and Pogba you can all take the piss out of me.

I think you are just a wind up merchant to be honest
